Ralph Lauren’s Coffee Concept Could Replace Highland Park Village Starbucks

Share News:

I had been hearing this for a while, and now it’s confirmed: The Starbucks in Highland Park Village is closing in February of 2024. However, CandysDirt.com has just learned that Ralph’s Coffee — an upscale coffee concept from Ralph Lauren, will occupy the space.

The Highland Park Village Starbucks location, which is next door to Chanel and across from Van Cleef & Arpels, was one of the first Starbucks to open in Texas in the early ’90s when the now famous coffeehouse landed in the Lone Star State. Likewise, this Ralph’s Coffee will be the first of its kind in Texas. Other locations include two in Manhattan; one in Woodbury, New York; and one each in Chicago, Miami, and Washington, D.C.

Highland Park Village is considered the Rodeo Drive of Dallas, a must-stop for purveyors of luxury. Along with legacy brands such as Ralph Lauren and Chanel, other new luxury retailers include Balmain, Simkhai, and Brioni — all exclusive in Texas. Vacheron Constantin and Loewe open in November.

The Dallas Morning News reported that Starbucks’ lease wasn’t renewed “because in recent years Starbucks has become more about to-go and mobile orders,” said Victoria Snee, Highland Park Village’s chief marketing officer. “It’s not conducive to our shopping environment. It’s not a right fit for us.”

The Highland Park Village Starbucks is a famous meeting place for real estate agents who often meet clients at Starbucks or run into other agents and exchange valuable information.

“I think this is the smartest move Highland Park Village has made in a long time,” said a veteran agent. “We won’t miss Starbucks — we will just go to Ralph’s!”

There are other nearby Starbucks locations including those at Snider Plaza, Knox Street, Oak Lawn, and the Plaza in Greenway Parks.

One of the largest Starbucks stores is at Preston and Northwest Highway between Preston Hollow and the Park Cities in one of the most prestigious submarkets in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Some have called it the highest net worth intersection in the country. Word is that the Northwest Highway coffee house may be slated as a Starbucks Reserve Roastery, which could serve alcoholic beverages.

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago at Michigan & Erie was once the Crate & Barrel flagship store.

I’m actually really sad about this, I used to go there with my little brother all the time. Upsetting to see that it’s gone now.
