When a house is really, really good, I’ll get a head’s up from Karen Eubank or Joanna England if they find it first. This one is so good that Karen actually picked up the phone to tell me about it. It’s Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate agent Eugene Gonzalez’s latest listing in Oak Cliff.

Oak Cliff Craftsman’s Backyard Has Yard to Spare

It’s updated, adorable, under $600,000, and it has a pool. A pool! Typically, if you have a pool in Dallas, you definitely DON’T have a yard. And if you have a yard, forget about the pool. But this corner lot is so deep, there’s room for a pool, a raised garden, tons of fresh green grass, and you still have room left over to add an attached garage. Totally up to you.

Inside, this is the home of two people who embrace color, have a super clean aesthetic, and know how to get it right.

The house was pretty put together when they purchased it years ago, but there were a few things they did to make it their own. And more importantly, make it make sense.

From Clawfoot to Flawless in a Single Shower

Gonzalez said in the bathroom there used to be pedestal sinks and a giant clawfoot tub. Sure, that’s the tub we all dreamed about as kids because it seemed so dang regal, but then you grow up and realize this is a bit cumbersome. And it takes up a lot of space and you know what would be way better in here? A walk-in shower with no ledge and a floating vanity. It’s so beautiful!!

The kitchen was established, but what they did do was a little flip-flop. The refrigerator used to be in the cubby that now holds a wine fridge, a coffee bar, and arguably the best pop of wallpaper I’ve ever seen. By switching those two spaces out, they created a flow AND added more storage.

As for the neighborhood, it’s Oak Cliff and it’s extra Oak Cliff-y. Gonzalez met the sellers on walks. It’s the charm over there. You walk dogs, push strollers, meet people, chit and chat. Then one day you help them sell their home, but you’re super sad to see them go.

If you’re interested in taking a look around, head over to the Open House this Sunday, October 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. It’s such a fun, creative space to explore.

Gonzalez has 814 N. Clinton Avenue listed for $550,000.
