It’s too easy to say this celebrity home sale by Dallas Realtor Melissa Jennings was a slam dunk. Instead, we’ll polish off our inverted pyramid skills and play it straight: In a noteworthy real estate transaction, Jennings, a Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty agent, just closed a deal with new Dallas Mavericks player Grant Williams. The sale marks another milestone in the dynamic Dallas housing market and highlights Jennings’ expertise in catering to high-profile clients. Newsy, right?

The 6’6″ forward was traded to Dallas in July and signed a four-year $54 million contract. Williams, 24, entered the NBA in 2019 when he was drafted by the Boston Celtics. He’s a native of Houston.

While Jennings declined to offer specific details about the property other than it was a beautiful home with a “killer outdoor entertaining area and pool,” she had wonderful things to say about the new Dallas homeowner.

“Grant was the most charismatic, kind, humble, and well-mannered young man with a great sense of humor,” she said. “He always had a huge smile on his face and was constantly expressing his gratitude for my time and efforts finding him an off-market property in a tight market with limited inventory.”

Williams was joined by his parents, Gilbert and Teresa Williams, who flew in from Charlotte for the day to support him during the closing. His dad, who is a jazz artist and former basketball player, donned a Dallas Mavericks shirt, and his mom, an engineer for NASA, had tears of joy at the closing,” Jennings said.

“I have never seen a family more proud of their child. It was really special to witness them sharing their excitement for him,” she said.

He comes to the Mavs with a reputation for solid defense on the court and a charismatic positive attitude off the court.

“He has the most positive, vibrant energy and lights up a room unlike anyone I’ve ever met,” Jennings said. “I told his mother that I definitely see where he gets it from. She had the same magnetic personality and energy about her.

“He is inspiring on and off the court, and I couldn’t have had a more positive experience working with him. He’s a true class act whose positive attitude is contagious to anyone sharing his space.”

Williams will take the court with Luka Doncic on Oct. 25 in the team’s season opener against the San Antonio Spurs. Until then, make yourself at home in these other homes of Dallas Mavericks, including this sweet little number purchased by Luka.
