Nikki Barringer shares her favorite backyards from listings all over North Texas this year.

We live in Texas, right? Here in the great state of Texas, we get to spend most of our days outside. Often covered in a veritable tsunami of sweat, but outside, nonetheless. And what’s one of the best places to be when you can be outside? Your very own backyard. Whee. Cartwheel emoji. Trumpet horn. Questionable sweatdrops emoji.

And just like every other thing on the planet, some are better than others which leads us to today’s list of the best backyards I’ve seen in 2022.

5970 Westgrove Drive

5970 Westgrove Drive

A little bit of a cheat on this one because it was listed for $3.995 million and that’s a *bit* above the average price point of this list, but I mean look at the pictures. Like how do you not include it? It has it all – green grass, infinity pool, way cool v-shaped patio cover, industrial stainless fan, and a big ol’ pop of color. Yep, yep, the backyard at 5970 Westgrove Drive is the stuff of dreams.

2185 Stickhorse Lane

This one is the wild card and yet another cheat because it’s not just the backyard that’s spectacular, it’s the fact that it’s secluded and on an actual acre. It’s really back, front, side, and side that makes the yard the yard, and hey look, there’s a vintage bus parked there. Way to be, 2185 Stickhorse Lane.

4512 Dove Creek Way

Out in Club Oak Estates, there’s a backyard that makes you say, “Oh that’s nice.” With a patio, “Oh that’s nice.” And then you turn the corner, see that it’s tucked onto a tree-filled tiered lot, and you said, “Holy moly. That is NICE.” Riiiiight? Love you lots, 4512 Dove Creek Way.

11150 Fernald Avenue

This little midcentury is unbelievable all around, but it’s that little high-rise deck out back that makes it the most amazing. It overlooks the wildest, greenest, most tree-filled backyard ever. It’s so impressive, every room on the interior has a view. High five, 11150 Fernald Avenue.

3135 Brincrest Drive

Not on this home, but on another one, an agent called the big hole of water outback a “spool.” Bigger than a spa, smaller than a pool. It’s a spool. And this way-cool house has one. Along with dual step-up decks, an outdoor kitchen, a separate dining area, big ol’ tree requisite party lights, and still some yard to spare. Is the house and yard at 3135 Brincrest Drive a showstopper? You bet.

10466 Fern Drive

The best for last? Maybe. Especially given the $395,000 price tag. It’s a lot of space for under $400,000. Not only is it on a corner lot, but there’s also room for a full-sized pool and lots of surrounding grass. Looking good, 10466 Fern Drive.
