Once upon a time in the land of Fort Worth, there was a little-known lane named Arlan Lane.

Arlan was not like any lane in the Overton Park area. Arlan was not as long or winding as some of the more famous lanes, streets, or boulevards in the neighborhood.

Even seasoned real estate veterans needed GPS to find the home on Arlan Lane

Aside from being a rather short lane, Arlan was covered with a canopy of mature trees. Up and down the sloped street, the little lane boasted oak, elm, and pecan trees that gave the lane and all its homes shade in the summer and plenty of piles of fluffy leaves for all the boys and girls of the neighborhood to jump into with glee come winter. Arlan was a happy lane.

Over the years not only did trees thrive on Arlan, but exquisite homes of different shapes and sizes were built along Arlan as well. Because the lane was not very long, some homes on Arlan Lane were tucked back on their properties and couldn’t be seen from the lane.

Built in 1979 but drastically updated since this home is one-of-a-kind in Fort Worth.

Hidden Away From Street View on Arlan Lane

In 1979, a home of 6,210 square feet was built on a 1.2-acre property. The property was also filled with tall and enchanting trees that not only covered the home but helped create a winding driveway from Arlan Lane to the home.

Because of the topography of the property, the home was built literally on the side of a hill. That allows unimpeded views of trees and the Fort Worth skyline from a multitude of rooms.

The patio off the main living is elevated and has beautiful Fort Worth views

Throughout the years since the home was built, it has gone through many revisions and updates. You would not expect this home to be over 40 years old when you enter. Rooms are open and bright with large windows and views. The massive kitchen area has access to a formal eating area as well as two comfortable family rooms.

Don’t you love no upper cabinets and instead huge windows?

In all this home features five bedrooms and five-and-one-half bathrooms. There are also four living areas, a workout room, two laundry areas, and a private safe room (of course now that I told you it’s there I guess it’s not too private), and in-ground trampoline, and an elevator for all sorts of fun and mischief.

One huge plus to the home is that there is no carpet anywhere to be found. What a wonderful example of quality and attention to the finer things in construction. The current owners of the home on Arlan Lane expanded the primary suite to add a workspace and a second closet.

If you have lots of shoes and clothes, you’ll love both primary closets at 3906 Arlan Lane.

The Perfect Bonus Suite

Because the home is built on a slope, the main floor where you enter the home at 3906 Arlan Lane is actually the second level of the home. The entry level is where the kitchen, two family areas, the primary suite, and patios are accessed.

The bonus suite has plenty of space and no carpet!

The third level (we’ll call that the second story) has three bedrooms, bathrooms, and a den or craft room. The basement level is certainly an added bonus because it not only has the garage and access to the backyard but also the fourth living area with a kitchenette and second laundry, bedroom, full bathroom, and workout room. It creates the perfect bonus suite for an in-law suite, nanny, or tenant to live

Though it’s currently a workout room, this bonus room could be another suite.

Step outside from the basement and enjoy a large, private swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor fireplace, and basketball area with a net to protect errant shots from going down the street never to be found again.

Talk about privacy for your pool!

Arlan Lane may not be the most well-known lane in Overton Park, it may not be the longest or have the most curves, but it’s a great place to find 3906 Arlan Lane, tucked away from the street, an enchanting property where all will live happily ever after.

Debbie Petty of Pursuit Realty Group and Williams Trew Real Estate has listed 3906 Arlan Lane for $2.9 million.
