Ready to Rec: Finally a Cute, Newer Build in Dallas For Less Than $300K

Share News:

A house in Dallas built after 2000 for under $300,000. Let me rephrase, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, newer construction house in Dallas for $280,000. Yeah. It’s happening people. It’s right here. Out near Interstate 35 and Red Bird. It’s close to Downtown Dallas, the University of North Texas Dallas Campus and the recently remodeled Singing Hills Rec Center.

Don’t know about that Rec Center? You’re about to. In 1971, the Parks and Rec Department purchased the 13.3 acres from A. A. Aaron, Jr. and built the original Singing Hills RC. In 2020, they brought it into the next dang millennium. They added a new facility designed by Perkins & Will and it’s pretty freaking spectacular. It’s the “first of its kind in Dallas – a multi-generational, community-focused facility.” There’s a computer lab, fitness center, gymnasium, kitchen, large and small meeting rooms, SENIOR CENTER and trails. What a freaking novel idea. There’s literally “something for everyone and it’s all under a single roof.”

And since it was designed by Perkins & Will, it’s freaking gorgeous, too. Once last quote and we’re headed to the home, I swear. “Our design team sought to enhance the beauty of the area by creating a facility that mimics the natural landscape in an abstracted way.” And they burrowed the gym into the topography to reduce bulk and create some real peekaboo moments from the outside in.

Now, how about this house. It’s really close to the Rec Center. HAHAHAH. One last plug. AND it was built in 2006. It’s the perfect starter home and inside they added fresh flooring and paint. It’s a pretty standard little house, nice layout, good flow, but it’s cute, right? Solid backyard. It’s in Villages of Runyon Springs, a cute little pocket of a neighborhood with a solid community and voluntary HOA. That’s love.

Open kitchen on the inside with a breakfast nook and a little drive thru window to the dining room. I’m kidding, it’s not really called that. But you can run with it if you want. And might as well run by that Rec Center while you’re at it. CALLBACK!
