From Traditional To Contemporary, It’s All Under One (Faux) Roof

Share News:

Ripped from the pages of Cali Cool Bro, a magazine I just invented, today’s featured listing. It has everything you’re looking for in a California Contemporary. White exterior with the appearance of a flat roof, but look a little more closely, it’s a FAUX ROOF LINE. It’s a clever way to transition a traditional to a contemporary AND it creates a huge porch out front with two seating areas. It’s tiled, too, for a little extra flash of class.

Even though this home is a strong nod to California Cool, it also has some pretty serious Miami Vice Vibes at night. If you moved in you could be the toast of the town with your semi-annual Crockett & Tubbs Look-a-Like Competition. I call dibs on the pastel blazer. I’m kidding. THEY’RE ALL PASTEL BLAZERS.

More coolness out front? Not one, not two, but three privacy fences and a gravel pit just beyond the front porch with, what’s that? A WATER FEATURE.

The creamy white brick contrasted with the charcoal gray trim and window casings are classic and the trendy color scheme continues inside. There’s white and gray and granite and that gorgeous soft wood color flooring that pretty much goes with every style.

Every inch of this home has been remodeled and I love the thick granite in the open kitchen. There’s plenty of natural light and no doubt, that’s the reason for the privacy fences. You can keep the blinds open, but thwart any would-be creepers.

There’s one feature I am dying to mention and it’s the hair dryer mounted on the wall. A lot of people describe their bathroom makeovers as spa-like or “it’s like the finest hotels” and this one went the extra mile to include the hair dryer. But don’t kid yourself, that’s handy as heck. If there’s a pullout drawer with metal containers to hold your straightening iron without burning the house down, we are in.

This house is over in the Hillcrest Homes neighborhood of North Dallas. It’s just north of 635 in between Coit Road and Hillcrest Road. It’s a neighborhood that’s known for larger homes with slightly more reasonable price tags.

Berkshire Hathaway’s Phuong Nguyen has 7320 Alpha Road listed for $749,000.
