Piper Young Departs Compass for @properties Brokerage

Last week we told you of a new Chicago-based residential real estate brokerage that just landed in Dallas, @properties. Besides the catchy-branding name, @properties utilizes prop-tech to help agents streamline daily functions via a proprietary platform. The firm partnered with Jerry Mooty — nephew of Jerry Jones and a major DFW real estate player, developer, and entrepreneur — to build the Dallas franchise from scratch.

Mooty is off to a fast agent roster start with the recruiting of Piper Young, a top producer who is on pace to record over $50 million in residential sales volume in 2021. Young is leaving the Dallas office of Compass to join @properties as a partner and vice president of strategic partnerships.

Greater Access to Technology

Young says her move to @properties will give her access to the technology resources she needs to continue growing her personal book of business while helping to build the @properties franchise into a major local player.

“When Jerry shared his vision with me for a real estate company for the next generation of Dallas agents, I was intrigued. And when he showed me @properties’ technology, marketing, and agent-education programs, I knew he was well on his way to making that vision a reality, and I wanted in,” said Young.

Young is a perennial top producer, who specializes in luxury homes and new construction in the North Dallas neighborhoods of Highland Park, University Park, Preston Hollow, Devonshire, Lake Highlands, and surrounding communities. Her average sale is around $1 million. She is married to Tanner Rivera of Tanner Homes.

She also spearheads development sales and marketing for a group of real estate investors active in the towns of Plano, Frisco, Prosper, and Celina, a region north of Dallas that is experiencing a big housing boom. She and Mooty are also directing sales for a luxury resort-home development, known as High Hill Farm, outside of Tyler. They estimate that between the city, suburbs, and second-home markets, @properties Dallas could have new-construction listings totaling $200 million within a year.

Young is joined at @properties by her associate, Kayla Weigel, who was also previously with Compass. She started her real estate career at Rogers Healy & Associates Real Estate and previously was with the Ben Jones group at Allie Beth Allman & Associates before moving to Compass.
