North Hi Mount Cottage

My frequent grousing about the difficulty of finding interesting properties to write about may have become a bit wearing for some readers, but in this tight market, it’s becoming an occupational hazard. As coincidence would have it, this week’s Fort Worth Friday is another stand out listing from Motive Real Estate Group’s John Staab whose Fairmount listing was the focus of last week’s feature.

This week finds us smack dab in the middle of Fort Worth’s Westside, in North Hi Mount abutting the pricey enclaves of Rivercrest and Monticello, near Fort Worth’s Cultural District.

Built in 1938, the three bedroom and two-and-one-half bath cottage at 4020 Bunting Avenue has been thoroughly modernized and shimmers in bright white inside out. The near 1900 square foot house has been opened with an uninterrupted sight line from front to back. For the location, the house is rather well priced at about 50K below the area average.

Curiously, rather than appear cold, abundant fenestration gives a richness to the monochrome white color scheme, providing a background which will show furnishings to advantage.

The well equipped kitchen has been thoroughly updated with all new stainless appliance, built-in microwave drawer, and gas cooktop. Hardware is fashionable brass. Laundry and a small mud room leading to the back door, are situated behind.

At front, a glassed in porch provides a lookout to the environs and could function as a casual garden/living space or office.

The largest bedroom is an ample 240 square feet with an ensuite bath and custom closet. The attached bath features luxurious marble, twin sinks and, consistent with the kitchen, beautiful brass hardware.

The back garden is largish with plenty of unrealized potential. A pool perhaps? Two parking spaces are housed in a detached building.
