A Picture Perfect Craftsman on Palo Pinto in Lakewood

One thing Dave Perry-Miller’s Frada Sandler has noticed about Lakewood is once you move in, you rarely move out. It’s an extremely friendly neighborhood, where neighbors stop each other on the street and say hey. Where the old regime catches up with the little ones as they play soccer in the front yard. “What school do you go to?” they ask kindly because there aren’t any Stranger Dangers when Mom and Dad are nearby. The new families keep everyone young and energize the area. As if it needs it. Long-time residents are just as cool as their contemporaries with energy and wisdom to spare. They love it here.

One of the reasons Sandler loves it in Lakewood is the variety of residents, sure, but also the variety of homes. There’s not a single dominant style. You’ll find modern next to Tudors, next to Craftsmans. It’s the variety that Sandler says makes the neighborhood feel so custom and we’ll throw in the word special just because we can.

It’s a great place to live. Quiet, easy, accessible to everything. Lakewood is one of the best neighborhoods in the area and cost of entry isn’t THAT crazy. We’ll point to 6110 Palo Pinto Ave with its three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 1,904 square feet listed for $625,000.

There are technically two primary bedrooms in this pale gray Craftsman and one additional bedroom. The sellers are currently using the could-be fourth bedroom as an exercise room, but the new owners can turn it into a bedroom, exercise room, whatever they want.

What else is there to say? Everything has been updated, but there’s still an opportunity to add a few finishing touches and truly make it your own. The living, dining and kitchen are all what Sandler calls semi-open. Walls have been removed, but there’s still a wonderfully well-defined space.

On the exterior there are two decks out back, a covered patio that runs the length of the house and a wide porch out front. Added bonus for the OCD in you, the house is SO SYMMETRICAL. There isn’t a garage, but there is an electric gate with two covered carport spaces.

If you’re interested, now is the perfect time to pounce. Sandler recently reduced the price and she’s hosting an Open House this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Frada Sandler has listed 6110 Palo Pinto Avenue for $625,000.
