This Lake Highlands Cottage Is Adorable As Is OR With Add Ons

You know what I love? An agent with adjectives and Halo Realty’s Kevin Caskey fits the bill. His latest listing in Lake Highlands is adorable, but he calls it “darling” and it’s the little things.

It is darling, as a matter of fact, and it’s set on a huge lot so Caskey said you can buy it and live your three-bedroom, three-bathroom dreams or you can double down and add on.

There’s tremendous potential for expansion. You can keep it simple and add a three-car garage out back. Or go with a three-car garage plus a full living suite up top. There are things to do, y’all. The sellers even explored those things so we know they’re doable.

One big reason to invest in Lockhaven? It’s over in East Dallas. Lake Highlands, to be specific. It’s a solid neighborhood where new construction sells in the $800s. The neighborhood definitely supports the expansion idea, but let’s focus upon all this home currently has to offer.

Granite countertops, stainless steel, and an open concept floor plan that overlooks a room with a fireplace. The sellers added a big farmhouse table and use it as the dining room, and Caskey says this configuration is perfect. It’s cozy and inviting and that’s just the overall vibe of this cutie.

Hand-scraped hardwoods run throughout the house and granite and neutral tile are in all the bathrooms. This is a home that’s not afraid of color, but the tones are muted — soft pinks, soothing blues, things of that nature. And if there happens to be a small female child looking over your shoulder as you flip through the photos (like there was over mine) I can guarantee she’s going to tell you she NEEDS that pink room.

The primary bedroom is large with an en suite bathroom and there’s just so much to love about this one. You know how some houses live larger than their actual square footage? This one seems to live richer than the sales price.

When you head out back, you get a real sense of what Caskey was saying. The backyard is HUGE. It goes on and on and it’s so big, it makes the playhouse look like it was built for elves.

If you’ve been looking and looking and looking, 8618 Lockhaven is a strong argument to look at JUST one more. Caskey has it listed at $475,000.
