Manchester Care Homes, Cambridge Caregivers Are at The Tip of The Silver Iceberg

They call it the Silver Tsunami.

In less than 20 years, the graying of America will be upon us: Older adults are projected to outnumber young adults for the first time in U.S. history.

In fact, Adam Lampert, CEO of Manchester Care Homes and Cambridge Caregivers, says that in just two decades older adults will comprise almost a quarter of the nation’s population.

The driving force? Baby Boomers getting old. Starting in 2030, all Boomers will be older than 65 and comprise 21 percent of the population, up from 15 percent today.

By 2060, nearly one in four Americans will be 65 years and older, the number of 85-plus will triple, and the country will add a half-million centenarians.

Lampert saw this trend when he first invested in assisted-living homes more than ten years ago. Now the Wharton MBA says we are at the tip of the silver iceberg: soon it will be grayer than ever before, as older adults outnumber the kids. And his business is more than ready:
