Rolling hills. High elevations. Gorgeous views. Great neighbors. That’s what you can expect at Long Cove, the luxury lake community located about an hour from Dallas at Cedar Creek Lake.

Now a limited collection of prime lakefront sites for custom homes has just come available in the Henderson Bay neighborhood, and you’ll want to come take a look before they’re gone. We’re not speaking in hyperbole or snazzy marketing speak. With the hot second home market we’re seeing, these prime spots in Henderson Bay should go fast.

Henderson Bay at Long Cove

A Home (Well, 7) with a View

Long Cove is also offering a collection of seven lakefront Contemporary Cottages overlooking the new infinity pool. The homes are built by Robert Elliott Custom Homes, a CandysDirt.com preferred builder, and designed from floor to ceiling by John Boyd and Associates, whose exceptional portfolio includes luxury residents in Dallas, Aspen, Ireland, Mexico, and family estates and ranches throughout Texas. Boyd created three different architectural plans to choose from, which have three bedrooms, a bunkroom, and four-and-one-half baths.

Robert Elliott Custom Homes has built many of Long Cove’s most beautiful homes including the Porch Homes, so close to the water that you can fish the stocked pond from your porch, and the popular Harbor Front Townhomes. Residents are already happily moved into the first phase of these townhomes, and the second phase is nearly sold out, the Long Cove team tells us.

Robert Elliott even built his own family lake house here. “Community is everything,” Elliott told us last year. “There are other places you can buy a lake home, sure, but the community is what really makes Long Cove worth a lot more. That’s one of the big reasons we built our own family lake home here. Going to a place where you and your kids can know a few friends and always meet new ones is a difference-maker.”

The Long Cove team offers its connections with several top A-listers to make the process easy. Those preferred builders, architects, landscape architects, and pool builders have worked on Long Cove homes before and understand the style and landscape of the area.

To Infinity (Pool) and Beyond

Besides the new home site release at Henderson Bay, there’s more news from Long Cove. Construction’s about to start on Long Cove’s Bayside infinity pool on Henderson Bay. The new lakeside amenity will have private cabanas, a kid’s pool, and an outdoor grill kitchen.

Speaking of amenities, there are plenty of ways to play at Long Cove. The new Canoe House, adjacent to the pool, is located on a protected inlet — the perfect spot to launch a canoe, kayak, paddleboard, or Fliteboard. (Don’t worry, I had to look it up, too. It’s an electric surfboard that gives you the sensation of flying over the water.) If launching an innertube at the Canoe House is more your speed, that’s okay, too.

More Ways to Play

This year, Long Cove completed a stone amphitheater and stage on Henderson Bay, large enough to host an entire orchestra for events and performances. Catch a concert under the stars, or head to the lakeside bonfire pits to warm those mitts on the occasional chilly spring night. Residents of the Henderson Bay neighborhood also can enjoy sandy beach volleyball, rolling lawns, and miles of trails that meander from woods to ponds, connecting to all the other neighborhoods.

You’ll also have easy access to all the other amenities at Long Cove, including tennis, pickleball, marina, sports field, and Lake Club pool. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the nine-hole golf course designed by Tripp Davis, a full driving range, and Thistle Never Dhu, a two-acre putting green (yep, two acres. One of the world’s largest.) designed by David Zinkand of Bandon Dunes.

And of course, a 1,200-acre backyard to call your own.
