In 2008, not many would have called real estate a promising field to get into. That was the year Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy. But that’s also the year Sean Parsons opted to trailblaze his career in real estate.

Now, more than a decade later, ensconced in a leadership role at RE/MAX DFW Associates, Sean has truly run the gamut with Dallas real estate, being ranked as one of the top teams and agents in the Dallas office. He is a seasoned pro who is not afraid to take risks. He is constantly on the lookout for additional ways to serve potential clients in the area, and help owners determine the best strategic plan for their real estate.

“Starting my real estate career with an establishment brokerage like RE/MAX gave me many growth opportunities, from being a member of a team to leading one now. The brand is important, but more than that the leaders and brokers all work alongside each other seamlessly.”

Sean says he has grown from an agent to a broker associate, to serving a term in The Advisory Council with a select few other agents.

“Leading alongside other proven professionals has been a tremendous advantage to broaden my scope of transactions and work exposure,” he says.

But for Sean, his most rewarding honor was when he was awarded Realtor of the Year companywide.

“Out of five DFW RE/MAX DFW offices and more than 300 agents, I got the award,” he says with a huge smile. “It was a tremendous honor. Some of these offices house the very best in the business.”

Starting his Realtor career with RE/MAX gave Sean many growth opportunities from being on a team to leading a team now. The brand is important, he says, but even more is having the leaders and brokers to work alongside.

“I’ve grown from an agent to a broker associate and serving a term on The Advisory Council with a select few other agents. Leading alongside other proven professionals has been a tremendous advantage to broaden the scope of transactions and work exposure. It has been a great honor to be invited to speaking engagements and paneal which allowed me to grown into being a better advocate for my clients. Being awarded the Realtor of the Year company-wide out of RE/MAX DFW Associates’ seven offices and 300+ agents was a tremendous. These offices have some of the very best people in the business,” he says.

While he works with clients in both residential and commercial properties, to help find great properties, he has also broadened his focus to include developing properties and building excellent new construction projects.

“Being a broker in so many different transactions has been so educational,” said Sean. “I have worked with enough transactions to know what people are looking for out of a development or newly built project, and I have been able to apply that knowledge as a developer and builder. Don’t get me wrong, it is sure hard work and takes grit and dedication. Focus on the processes and making each part better is a motto in this business.”

His strong collaboration skills are appreciated by fellow brokers as well as Sean’s clients. During a transaction, his boots on the ground background helps to identify potential snags early in the contract and during the selection of the property. From his broad contacts and variety of completed closings, it’s apparent his tenure is a well-suited vertical integration to drive the most value back to clients and investors.

Sean’s current construction portfolio includes 10 new homes planned in various stages across East Dallas—within Casa Linda, Lakewood, and Casa View areas. The homes range in size and price from starter homes of $450k ranging to homes selling in $1-2M and multifamily apartments completing construction.

The project he is wrapping up currently is the development of a complete renovation apartment complex that will funnel to Lakewood Elementary. 2114 Tucker Street, dubbed Whiterock Views Apartments, thanks to the beautiful nearby water views renters will enjoy with lakeside living and many shops and restaurants nearby. There are 12 apartments luxuriously finished with a generous bathroom and Samsung appliances, with amenities like a 50” TV, Samsung stacked front load washer and dryers, plus all new Samsung appliances in every unit.

‘We wanted to make these nice enough to balance the Class A finish-out you’d expect in luxury condos. The attention to ‘sound proofing’ walls and the abundance of Ring cameras bring a feeling of both ‘safe and sound’.” says Sean, lead developer on the project.

Sean anticipates construction completion in a few short weeks.

For Sean, his developer role ties back to the same strength selling homes does: relationships with others.

“Having several local developers that I have represented or worked alongside with, I’ve forged many friendships with a number of successful builders, developers and investors. The focus on relationship and creativity of abundance mindset has led to more opportunity and work that I am grateful!”

Sean also attributes his success and expanded services as a credit towards his mentors over the years.

“Relationships matter. These people who have helped me along the way are important to me. Whether it be a 20 year relationship with a seasoned developer or a local newer connection, I’m encouraged by the people who have shared wisdom and who also have passion in finding and building good projects.”

“Together,” says Sean, “is how the real estate business works.”
