Ebby Halliday Companies Ending 2020 on a Philanthropic Note

Share News:

January 1, 2020, was to signal the start of a year-long celebration for the Ebby Halliday Companies. A significant milestone that not many companies get to experience was passed — 75 years in business. It all began in 1945, when one bold woman parlayed her wisdom, generosity, business acumen, and endurance into what is today the No. 1 residential real estate brokerage in Texas.

Those 75 years culminated in a fantastic gala in late January at the Irving Convention Center. In hindsight, the timing was perfect. Too much later and it would’ve been a Zoom party for 1,800+ agents and staff.

As we all know, shortly thereafter, life came grinding to a halt for so many — around our city, around our country, and around our world.

Unlike with some other hard-hit industries, 2020 has actually been a good year for local residential real estate. People moving up, down and around for various reasons have kept agents busy. In fact, the Ebby Halliday Companies had their best month EVER in July.

So it makes it especially difficult to stand by while many North Texans are struggling through difficult times.

Ebby Halliday Acers

Perhaps it’s the approaching Thanksgiving season or being forced to slow down and rediscover what really matters. Or maybe it’s Ebby Halliday Acers’ timeless mantra feeling as appropriate as ever: “Do something for someone every day.”

But the agents and staff with Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, and Williams Trew have taken this opportunity to raise $75,000 (in honor of 75 years) to donate to the North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant Area Food Bank. Much of the money raised so far has been from within the company, but for anyone who would like to and can contribute, the invitation to give is open to all.

Every $1 raised helps provide three nutritious meals for hungry children, seniors and families in our community. And from now until Thanksgiving, the Ebby Halliday Foundation has graciously agreed to triple donations made (up to the remaining goal of $30,000).

Please visit one of the following sites and make a donation of any amount. We’re all in this together!

She sold my parents their first Dallas house in 1964, in Chapel Downs. We met her at the little house on Northwest Highway and rode in her Cadillac. She seemed like a force of nature. In 1969, she sold them a new home near Hockaday.
