Wisconsin House is $1M of Yabba-Dabba-Do-What?

My favorite type of Wednesday WTF is the one that fools you into thinking its normal, and then — like this Wisconsin home we’re taking a gander at this week — does something so off-kilter that you walk away feeling a little dizzy and dazed.

And, let’s be honest, that’s a mean feat in the current news cycle. We’re exactly seven days into October and it feels like it should be December.

At any rate, this Wisconsin abode is priced at a cool $1M, with most of that being lot value (it sits on 17 acres). The home itself has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, and is roughly 5,200 square feet.

And on the outside, it’s nice. Idyllic, even. Inside, it’s a matter of personal taste in some areas — some might find the custom touches in the kitchen charming, some might feel they’re dated. Most of the bathrooms could use some updating, too, and the dining room seems dark (although one might argue that good photography might have helped).

But uh, then there’s this.

The listing says it’s an atrium. Fred Flintstone says it’s fine, and he and Barney want to know if it’s cool if they host poker night there.

You have to admire (actually, there is zero pressure to do that here) the commitment to this rock-solid design choice. It’s bouldered us over. This listing is a simple case of the cave and the cave nots. It’s definitely not (not) a yabba-dabba-don’t. No, I don’t think the designer was stoned.

I could actually go all day doing this, by the way.
