Walk It Out From This Little Slice Of Perfection

Share News:

If you’re trying to sell a house, here’s a great opener — It’s 0.5 miles from Starbucks. As in, you can walk to Starbucks every morning, order up, head home and get your steps in before the day even thinks about starting to begin.

It’s a big deal.

It is to us, and Jason Friedman, the seller of this week’s Saturday $700k home at 5739 W. Amherst Avenue. It’s SUCH a big deal that the new house he just purchased is also exactly 0.5 miles from Starbucks. He’s already clocked it.

Friedman’s obvious Starbucks intelligence also led him to this almost-impulse home purchase over six years ago.

Here’s how it happened: His current lease was up so he was driving through the neighborhood when he saw this house. He likes a project, made an offer, lived, laughed, loved for over six years, updated the heck out of it, and here we are.

The updates are *chef’s kiss* perfection. Like he took the study off the principal bedroom and made it A CLOSET. This house was built in 1948 so you know the thing it needs the most? CLOSETS.

The ensuite bathroom is gorge, as is the whole house is honestly.

Some of the projects our fearless homeowner took on? The yard, the principal ensuite bathroom and closet (obvi), the other bathroom and the kitchen. And everything minus the yard was done in the last two years.

Remember when we said he was fearless? Don’t believe us? Get a load of that wallpaper in the secondary bath. Like we said. Fearless. Friedman said people either love it or they hate it, but they always comment on it. And let’s just say if you’re out looking at five houses in a day, this is a standout that you won’t soon forget.

It’s not just the overall look that’s modern, either. The house has actually been tech updated too. Friedman said when he redid some of the electrical, he updated the outlets to be Google and Alexa compatible. So now if you want to turn off a light in the kitchen, but aren’t really feeling the walk, you can shout it out. After all, you likely already knocked out one mile that morning so just relax, okay? You’ve earned it.

If you’re interested in a spectacular house in a spectacular area where you can walk just about anywhere and don’t even have to have a car except you do because it’s still Texas, check out 5739 W. Amherst Avenue for sure for sure. No doubt, listing agent Amy Messer with Compass will be happy to show you around.
