Architect-Designed Kessler Park Modern Has a Catwalk to Guest Suite

I see so many houses day in and day out, week after week, that I’m pretty jaded. It takes some real creativity to get me excited about a home. So when I say that this Kessler Parkway home designed by Lake | Flato is exciting, I’m not exaggerating.

First, we have to tip our hat to Lake | Flato for not tearing down the original 1948-built structure. Instead, the firm used the terraced backyard to create a unique feature in this week’s Inwood National Bank Home of the Week. The catwalk leads from the second-story addition to the backyard casita, which has gorgeous tree-top views and a relaxing outdoor shower.

This home takes full advantage of the landscape, creating private nooks and a feeling that listing agent Crystal Gonzalez with Compass calls “tucked away in nature.”

“This home perfectly embodies the ideal indoor-outdoor lifestyle,” Gonzalez says of 1910 Kessler Parkway, a five-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath, airy renovated ranch. “Sunlight streams through huge windows, and the sliding doors open up to breeze and sky.”

The first thing you notice about the great room is the vaulted-and-beamed ceiling, painted bright white to match the walls and columns. The wall of windows allows this combined sunroom and living area to feel exceptionally bright, making it a wonderful home for your art collection. The dining room is just beyond, as is the kitchen.

The master suite is upstairs, which we love. The home has so many great updates and original details that gives it this alchemy of being cool without having to try too hard. Storage abounds throughout the home’s 3,113 square feet, so you can keep the uncluttered, zen-like vibe going long after you move in.

And while the home has an amazing backyard, a beautiful casita, gorgeous interiors, and plenty of room, the architects didn’t forget the importance of curb appeal. Truly, this architect-designed renovated ranch is an all-around stunner.

Crystal Gonzalez with Compass Real Estate has listed 1910 Kessler Parkway for $925,000.
