Hey, have you heard? It’s hot outside, which leaves most of us dreaming of cooler climates like the mountains or the beach or anything near water or possibly a glacier.
Unfortunately, that’s not always on the itinerary because of work, commitments, and lack of bags of cash. The good news is, you can still get away and enjoy the cool comforts of someone else’s A/C.
Check out this handful of Airbnbs we handpicked for their unique look, location and again, the opportunity to enjoy cooler temps inside not-your-house.
Escape the city in a real live cabin (pictured above). Conveniently located less than a gas tank away in Urbandale in Southeast Dallas.
Why It Made The List: It’s out there, but like near here and Superhost Grady said the cabin is “Crafted from pine felled and hand-planed in Boone, N.C.” New rule: If you use the word “felled,” you’re going to make the list.
This delightful upstairs apartment is ooh-la-la chic and was featured in “Homebody” by Joanna Gaines.
Why It Made The List: Aside from the aforementioned “touched by a Gaines,” it’s a stunner. Immaculate interiors, gorgeous details, a private deck, shared pool, and Superhosts Jamie and Larry invite you to “luxuriate on the expansive sofa.”
IT’S A TINY HOUSE.
Why It Made The List: This “wonderful, cozy getaway” allows you to try out tiny living without getting rid of all your things. Bonus: Superhost Kelsea points out that the tiny house “is a five-minute drive to the Arts District, Downtown Dallas, American Airlines Center…and all things JFK.” OWNED IT.
This detached guesthouse near Lakewood is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with privacy galore.

Located in the heart of Little Forest Hills, book a stay in this jaw-dropper and leave that hustle behind.
Why It Made The List: A wall of windows, winding staircase, and an interior that Superhost Danielle describes as “blending Bauhaus contemporary with warm rustic elegance.” And that’s just the inside. Outside you’ll discover a “running brook, countless Japanese maples, winding gravel footpaths, and a footbridge.”
Head back to your childhood in this Memphis-designed, totally teal, and perfectly pink half-a-home that’s basically a Swatch phone come to life.
Why It Made The List: This Airbnb is so rad, Superhosts Jeremy and Kelsey literally put it on the wall. Book a night here for the photo ops alone. Add the other half of this duplex (Saved by The 90s) and create your own coming-of-age tale.
This contemporary Airstream is 25 feet of centrally-located fun.
Why It Made The List: It’s an Airstream AND it’s located in the heart of Lower Greenville, near lovely Knox-Henderson. Shop all day, bar hop all night then crash in this completely renovated home-on-wheels.
This private 300-square-foot apartment is pristine and clean and the tile says, “howdy.”
Why It Made The List: This is the third Bishop Arts stay on a rather short list, but it’s a hot spot, gang, and we couldn’t help ourselves. Just look at that art perfectly arranged on a gallery wall. See? You’d add it, too.
