Unique Midcentury Capsule in Irving Is a Cosmic Gem

mid-century capsule

Fix yourself a cocktail at the smoked glass bar and come take a look at this part-time capsule, part-updated home in the heart of Irving listed by Blaine Soileau of Dallas City Center Realtors for this week’s Thursday 300.

Working on last week’s Suburb Sunday featuring Irving, I came across this stunning mid-century style home at 309 San Mateo Court that is fabulously priced at $398,000. This 3,168 square-foot four-bedroom, two and half-bath home has a striking front entrance with amazing angles that hint at its unique inside. I debated between featuring this and another MCM home, and went with the latter, but someone has jumped at the chance for this 1967-built home in Irving’s University Hills because it’s now listed as pending.

Walk into this mid-century home to find wood parquet flooring, to the left a sunken living room with a graphic nod to 60’s sky travel, and to the right a paneled family room with dramatic ceiling beams, shingled wet bar, and a wood-burning fireplace with wood hatch.

The listing agent says it’s coming off a three-year restoration, where all original finishes have been restored to the blueprint specifications. This classic beauty is nestled among giant oaks overlooking its University Hills cul-de-sac. See more photos of this positively cosmic mid-century capsule on the full listing.

The house is beautiful! They did an amazing job bring her back to her full glory. The yard is also swanky and cocktail cool.
