FARMERS BRANCH BEAUTY ZONED FOR GREAT SCHOOLS

Open house: Saturday, Dec. 22, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This three-bedroom, two-bath Farmers Branch home has 2,132 square feet of living space, and has been beautifully updated with wood floors, custom lighting, in-ceiling speakers, and more.

The home, located at 3461 Rockmartin Dr., also has a living area that’s just screaming for Christmas decor — just look at that living room fireplace, and that space for a Christmas tree, for instance.

The kitchen has been spruced up with granite, custom cabinetry, and a gas cooktop, making holiday entertaining a breeze.

A climate controlled sunroom leads to a beautiful backyard pool with professional landscaping and a custom sprinkler system, plus a gazebo and greenhouse.

And the home is in the Chapel Hill Preparatory School attendance zone, which is a personalized learning school in Dallas ISD, as well as Marsh Preparatory Academy (also a personalized learning school), and W.T. White High School, which has a collegiate academy that allows participating students to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associates degree. White also met standard and received seven distinctions from the Texas Education Agency this year, making it the only comprehensive high school in the district to win all seven distinctions.

The property is listed by Mindy Farris with Keller Williams Central, for $364,500.

GROOVY MIDCENTURY RANCH IN LAKE HIGHLANDS

Open house: Thursday, Dec. 20, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 22, from Noon-2 p.m.

Although it may have been built in 1956, this Midcentury Ranch at 11025 Glen Echo Court has been at the receiving end of a complete remodel, making it a fun house with a lot of modern features.

Situated in a cul-de-sac in Lake Highlands, the home immediately gets a boost in the curb appeal department from reclaimed cedar and Mid-Mod friendly color palette. Inside this three-bedroom, three-bath house has 2,300 square feet, and a wide open floor plan for the common areas.

Included in that open floor plan? An adorably cozy spot with a beautiful fireplace ready for snuggling and reading your favorite Christmas story before sending the kids off to bed so Santa can come to visit. And there is also plenty of space for a tree, or even two.

But the home isn’t just pretty — the remodel included all new electrical wiring and fixtures, energy efficient windows, gas plumbing, new appliances, and a new AC system.

The home also boasts two master suites, both with walk-in closets and large en-suite bathrooms.

The home is listed for $419,000 by Angela Hornburg with Keller Williams Realty Arlington.

MIDWAY HOLLOW MODERN WITH ‘THE PERFECT FLOOR PLAN’

Open house: Saturday, Dec. 22, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Studded with high-end amenities, this new construction in Midway Hollow was an obvious pick because of all the room for holiday entertaining, the sleek fireplace, and the multiple opportunities to display a Christmas tree.

“Situated on one of the larger lots in Midway Hollow, the builder was able to deliver the perfect floor plan,” listing agent Janelle Alcantara with David Griffin & Company said of her listing at 3822 Durango Dr.

And those soaring ceilings in the common areas mean you can have super tall Christmas trees — no wimpy seven footers for you.

A great open-galley kitchen provides easy opportunities to keep cooking and talking to guests at the same time. A large wine cooler in the kitchen can only serve to up any owner’s entertaining game.

Outside, there is about 700 square feet of covered outdoor living area overlooking a lushly manicured lawn.

A spacious master suite boasts a custom closet and a spacious en-suite. “And (insert drumroll here) there is even a urinal in the master bath!” said Alcantara.

The home is listed for $850,000.
