University Park French EclecticSanta can scramble down the chimney, right into a party at this modern University Park French Eclectic at 4328 Purdue Avenue. The open-plan family area in this Robert Elliott Custom Home is perfect for holiday entertaining.

This University Park French Eclectic is the dream home, in the dream location. If you are making a list and checking it twice, you can tick off spacious, warm, family home, a neighborhood with great schools, easy access to the tollway, and Love Field, and terrific shopping in all directions!

This University Park French Eclectic is a perfect blend of traditional elements and modern amenities with features I love, and some that may surprise you. At 5,392 square feet, with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and two powder baths, it doesn’t have the expected floor plan. The study is immediately off of the beautifully paneled two-story entrance, with the dining room beyond it. Instead of a public, seldom used, formal living space opposite the study, the main staircase leads straight to the private level of the home.

Guests flow through the entry into a lovely open-plan living area warmed by a beamed ceiling. The wet bar opening into the family area has made a comeback, but in a very gracious manner. The stained wood complements the beamed ceiling and ties it all together very neatly.

It’s just far enough away so you’re connected to the action, but there’s still a bit of separation between prep and party. There’s a butler’s pantry just off this area that connects to the formal dining room.

You’ll also find the mudroom has a laundry and half bath, another brilliant piece of design in this University Park French Eclectic.University Park French Eclectic

One of the features I love in this modern French Eclectic is the first-floor guest suite. If you have older family members that visit regularly, this is an absolute must in my book.

The second floor has all sorts of surprises. The master bedroom suite features a hidden office behind pocket doors, just outside the bedroom.

The upstairs laundry room design is also brilliant. It was built behind the master closet. “It’s a neat and functional convenience,” Compass Real Estate listing agent Michelle Wood said. “It’s also accessible through the hallway.”

The master bathroom is one of the things I find surprising. It reminds me of those in Europe before the concept of a fitted bathroom became popular. Originally, these rooms had real furniture. It was not built-in, or fitted to the room. Although the cabinets and armoire are built into this space, it’s a nice look, and reminiscent of old European homes. I am sensing a return to stained wood. That is if, (and that’s a big if) it’s done correctly, as you see here.

There is a ton of space in this University Park French Eclectic, but it’s so beautifully laid out you never feel lost. A playroom over the garage, which is attached to the house, is another feature I love. If you have small kiddos or teens, you know a separate space is essential for a happy family.
There’s also an open living area at the top of the back stairs, between the master and the playroom. So, there are loads of places to perch in this University Park French Eclectic and contemplate your Santa wish list.

The backyard has plenty of space to play, and there’s even a putting green!

Wood has this Modern University Park French Eclectic listed for $2.199 million. If all you want for Christmas is a beautiful University Park home, give her a call!
