You all know Tanya Foster, right? Park Cities resident, lifestyle blogger, actor and now empty nester… which brings us to the point of this story.

Tanya is a wife and mother to FOUR grown children, a husband Pete, and two Norfolk terriers, Sparky and Max. She’s been blogging since 2016 at TanyaFoster.com – a lifestyle blog, covering all things lifestyle: fashiontravel, restaurants, recipes, beauty, aesthetic procedures and more.

I’m an everyday gal about town always exploring new opportunities. Do you have something you would like for me to consider in my editorial content? Be sure to contact me here. I hope that you will subscribe and stop by often. My intent is to inspire you to try something new while we’re talking over coffee via the daily blog post.

And where has Tanya’s empire been launched? Right in her beautiful University Park home at 3924 Bryn Mawr. But now the empty nesters want a more leave-able home, because they travel so much. Allie Beth Allman’s Lillie Young is helping them downsize Bryn Mawr and just popped it on MLS. It’s a beauty: Tanya’s style and incredible taste shines throughout! The 5266 square foot home was built by Tanya and Pete, sports five bedrooms, three and a half baths, formals and a guest house on a 65 by 160 foot lot within walking distance of Hyer Elementary. That big juicy lot also has a sparkling swimming pool and patio space galore.

The floor plan  “is perfect for entertaining” – well, we knew that immediately. The “dramatic marbled entry flows to elegant formals with hardwood flooring & floor to ceiling windows. A 2015 kitchen remodel features natural marble counter tops, stainless steel Thermador appliances, and custom cabinetry. The kitchen area flows to large family living area which looks onto the back patio, the beautiful salt-water pool, spa, and landscaped yard.”

Salt water pool! The master bedroom, master bath, and master closet were all remodeled in 2015: got to see that closet! There is also a Guest House, one-bedroom with kitchenette and full bath above the detached garage. The home overlooks the pool. And yes, the place is what you would definitely call sophisticated, just like Miss Tanya, who tells us her real estate story:

CD: You don’t really work from home. I don’t believe you! How do you keep your office so neat? Mine ALWAYS looks like a blue norther has blown through…
TF: I do work from home and spend 90% of my time in my home office. Amy Berry decorated this room in a project we did together for my lifestyle blog. If you follow me on social media (@tanyafosterblog) or read my blog (TanyaFoster.com), you will recognize this room as Sparky and Max’s favorite place to hand out. They are our Norfolk Terriers.  I really like the way it turned out!

CD: I love it. And your home is stunning! Did you design it yourself?

TF: We’ve lived here forever, we built this house in 1989. We have been the only owners. Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to work with amazing designers to decorate it and renovate it. I love a good project and really enjoy the process.

CD:  What are your favorite rooms…

TF: The blue formal sitting room is a family favorite! It’s modeled after a room at Versailles. We live in the kitchen, family room and all the rooms upstairs.

CD: Is it going to be hard to leave this home? Asking for another soon-to-be downsizer…

TF: Ha! YES, it will be very hard. We raised our children here and have so many fond memories. But it’s time for another Park Cities family to move in and raise their family in this home. The house is walking distance to Hyer Elementary school and ideal for children. There is a park nearby, as well as tennis courts. It’s really the perfect location, proof is that we have been here so long!

CD:  What aspects of this home do you absolutely have to have in your next home?

TF: We are downsizing as we are empty nesters. I think a large master bedroom, master bath and closet are an absolute must! Especially for a fashion blogger!

CD: Definitely! What can you part with?

Tanya’s famous office!

TF: The pool, yard and back house. They all served their purpose over the years but simply are no longer used.

CD: Speaking of parting, will you have to shed some art and furniture?

TF: YES! We are still trying to figure all that out as we have been collectors of French and English antiques and furniture over many years.

CD: So where are you looking for your next beautiful abode… any dramatic style changes on the horizon?

TF: No dramatic style changes. Maybe a little less formal. It will definitely be in the Park Cities, just smaller. We’re in the stage of life where we want to lock and GO!
