Our Monday Morning Millionaire is a stunning Preston Hollow Texas Contemporary at 4562 Isabella Lane in the Wilson Estates neighborhood that has been completely transformed. The dream team of Architect David Stocker, Principal of Stocker, Hoesterey, Montenegro, and Brad Ellerman, President of Ellerman Homes, took it from 2005 to 2018 and all we can say is, “WOW!”

We keep telling ya’ll, if you want to sell a home today, in any price range, you have to appeal to today’s buyer — and that buyer wants a Pinterest-perfect home. Now seriously, there is not a thing wrong with the way this home looked prior to Stocker and Ellerman giving it a brand-new look. It was just not the style that people are looking for today. So, you have to get that work done! And boy, howdy, did these sellers get ‘er done!

“They basically touched every surface,” Compass Real Estate listing agent Michelle Wood said. “They gutted the kitchen and added high-end custom tile and marble countertops. They repurposed a space off the kitchen and created a wonderful morning room with a chalkboard wall. It’s one of my favorite spaces in this home.”

As you can see from the photos, before remodeling, the home had a bit of a Tuscan look. The kitchen was smaller and the master bath was well— see for yourself! The owners of this Texas Contemporary took their time with this remodel and got it absolutely right.

A wall was removed to make the kitchen larger, doorways were widened, the first floor was given new steel windows, and every bathroom was gutted and redone to the same level as the master bathroom. Hardwood floors were refinished, as were ceilings. A pecky cypress ceiling was added on the second-floor landing. The fireplaces were rebuilt to reflect today’s more modern taste level, and the walls were given a Level 5 museum-quality finish. And have a look at the bar area. That’s an enormous book-matched slab of onyx!

The master bathroom is a jaw-dropper. “It’s idyllic,” Wood said. “It has an 11-foot long shower with windows overlooking a private courtyard. There is also an outdoor rain shower just off the master bath.

Before carpet and some spot-on painting!

Notice how the adjoining bedroom paint colors play nicely into the updated bathroom accent tile.

The ultimate play room for big or little kids!

And we love the home theater transformation in this Texas Contemporary. Seriously, look what new paint and carpet can do!

When you buy an 11,083-square-foot home, with seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a powder bath, study, playroom, and a home theatre, you sure don’t want to be in a zero-lot-line situation. So, we are happy to report there is room to roam — as this Texas Contemporary clocks in at a bit over an acre!

“It has a full-sized sand volleyball court, a pool, and two Olympic-sized, in-ground trampolines,” Wood said.

And let’s not overlook the motor court. It’s big enough to have a sports court and garage space for five cars.

“It’s a wonderful family home,” Wood said. Considering the proximity to some of the best private schools in Dallas, we completely agree.

It’s not easy to find multi-million dollar homes that have already been updated. You may think, oh folks in that can afford the $6.99 million sticker price can just build. But who wants to wait for new construction when you can nab a beautiful, move-in ready Texas Contemporary, right now? That’s the lesson. Do the work and the buyers will come!
