Splurge vs Steal: Lots of Great Amenities in These Greenway Park Houses

Share News:

The upscale neighborhood of Greenway Park is a favorite of many with its proximity to the Park Cities, community amenities, and great restaurants and shopping. It is bounded by the Dallas North Tollway on the east, Mockingbird Lane on the south, Inwood Road on the west, and University Boulevard on the north.

For today’s Splurge vs Steal, we are looking at two lovely homes in Greenway Park. Which one is your favorite?

SPLURGE: NEWER HOUSE WITH OVER 4,000 BEAUTIFUL SQUARE FEET

We love the Greenway Crest house at 5532 Druid Ln. with all its special features and beautiful curb appeal. This home has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, three half baths, and 4,030 square feet on two stories, built in 2007.

The dramatic entryway has a graceful, curving staircase and a home office with French doors. The first living area has a carved fireplace surround and a wet bar with wine cooler. A huge sunroom also has a fireplace and three sets of sliding glass doors opening onto a shady backyard with a heated saltwater pool and hot tub. The downstairs master offers a lovely ensuite bathroom with frameless glass shower and jetted tub. The kitchen has a butler’s pantry, exotic granite countertops, six-burner gas stove, double ovens, built-in refrigerator, and tons of cabinets.

This home was listed March 29 by Cheryl Carter with Allie Beth Allman for $1,095,000.

STEAL: COTTAGE FEEL, UPDATES IN CUTE GREENWAY PARK HOUSE

One mile west, find the lovely 1947 cottage at 4903 Wateka Dr. in Greenway Village with its renovated good looks. This home has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and 1,314 square feet on one story.

Nestled on a corner lot with mature trees, this house has a lot to offer. Inside, you will find original hardwood floors, a fully renovated kitchenwith brand new double gas ranges, glass tile contemporary backsplash, and bright red lower cabinets (all are custom). Other updates include a fully renovated bathroom, tankless water heater, and energy efficient AC. Exterior features a screened-in front porch, newly fenced back yard, covered patio, raised garden beds, plenty of grassy green space, and additional parking. A second bath could be easily added on — the sellers have the plans available upon request.

This home was listed April 6 by Patti Daily with One Plus Realty/Legacy Premier Group for $365,000.

I like the Steal, although I’d be doing a little work in the kitchen due to personal preferences…
Would have been nice to see pics of a bathroom.
