Share News:

Bonnie Pitmans lovely unit inside the Howard Meyer-designed 3525 Turtle Creek will be on the April 8 Turtle Creek Tour of Homes.

Our dance card is filling up with this spring’s bevvy of beautiful home tours, but there’s no way we’d miss this particular event on April 8. The only home tour that focuses on the luxury high-rise buildings that line the picturesque urban neighborhood of Turtle Creek offers something special: A chance to view our city from new angles and perches.

If you’re not familiar with Dallas’ Uptown neighborhood, then this tour is a great way to get acquainted. And if you’re lucky, you can attend this year’s Turtle Creek Tour of Homes benefiting the Turtle Creek Association for free! We have a pair of tickets we are giving away to the 17th annual Turtle Creek Tour of Hoemes, which will offer walk-throughs from 1 to 5 p.m. of one single-family home on St. Johns Drive in Highland Park, as well as units inside The WarringtonThe Vendome, and 3525 Turtle Creek. There’s an additional after party at the home of Dallas’ cheese queen Paula Lambert, too, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Want to attend both? Advance tickets are available through the Turtle Creek Association website for $150. Even if you don’t win our giveaway, you can purchase home tour tickets for $50 per person for Turtle Creek Association members, and $60 per person for non-members.

Want to win? Jump to find out how to enter!

    I really like Vendome!

  2. Dana Murdock Banks on March 27, 2018 at 10:29 am

My favorite Turtle Creek high-rise residence is Park Towers, 3310 Fairmont, for its mid-century modern international style and location within the parks.

  3. Betsy Orton on March 27, 2018 at 10:34 am

I love Park tower and the Claridge. I love that they’re right on the Trail. Love this tour every year!

    I love LaTour.

My favorite has to be The W Residences.

3525 Turtle Creek is my favorite! When it opened to the public, 3525 Turtle Creek was the ”tallest, largest, and most luxurious apartment ever erected west of the Mississippi” and it has been home to many of Dallas’ notable citizens. Designed by famed Modernist architect Howard R. Meyer and constructed in 1957 by Jerome J. Frank and Edward T. Dicker, the building is one of the nation’s few Modernist high-rise apartment buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

You’re right about the notable citizens, from John Tower to Greer Garson to Jimmy Dean. How many buildings can say that?

We have lived in all the high rises from 21 to the Mansion….the Vendome was our home for many years and we have great friends, but we decided to scale back and returned to 21! We made our interior look like the Vendome, and saved a lot of money!

  8. Patrick Sinnott on March 27, 2018 at 10:47 am

My favorite has to be the Centrum. Unobstructed views, large outdoor space, walking distance to neighborhood activities, proximity to gorgeous park.

  9. Dana F on March 27, 2018 at 10:55 am

3525 Turtle Creek for its mid century architecture and elegance

  10. Paul J Williams on March 27, 2018 at 10:58 am

Call me dated, but I will forever be enamored by the Claridge.

  11. Kathy Adcock-Smith on March 27, 2018 at 11:31 am

3525 Turtle Creek is my fav

  12. Cindy on March 27, 2018 at 11:41 am

I love the Mansion Residences. They remind me of old time glamour and drama from a great book.

  13. Cody Farris on March 27, 2018 at 11:47 am

My favorite is the Vendome for its unobstructed views of downtown, gas fireplaces, herringbone floors, large plans (some with two baths in the master) and very well maintained common areas. And I think the HOA dues are a real value (relatively speaking), with electricity included!

  14. Chad Thorpe on March 27, 2018 at 11:48 am

I love the Vendome. It has the classic Turtle Creek look.

  15. Cherie Meyer on March 27, 2018 at 12:34 pm

I’ve always liked 3525 since I worked for a law firm near by at Two Turtle Creek…lovely area to walk around at lunch time!

  16. Anissa on March 27, 2018 at 12:55 pm

They all make Dallas proud, but the Vendome is is my favorite! Dreamy! By the way, love this blog. I’m always in the know!

I am a fan of Park Tower.

  18. Carla Smith on March 27, 2018 at 1:09 pm

Oh my goodness, this is easy; 3525 Turtle Creek has been THE Turtle Creek high-rise ever since it made its presence known in the 1958 skyline.

  19. Matt M on March 27, 2018 at 1:18 pm

The Vendome for sure. Used to carpool with a resident, great building.

  20. John Sieber on March 27, 2018 at 1:27 pm

I like the Mayfair because I would not have to cross a busy street to walk my dog in the Oak Lawn Park.

  21. Martha Gahagan on March 27, 2018 at 1:30 pm

    Triple love Vendome!

  22. Janet on March 27, 2018 at 1:33 pm

Thanks for the opportunity to tour.

Love the modernist vibe of 3525.

  25. Amy Alexander on March 27, 2018 at 3:05 pm

21 is my favorite! So much history, plus the “best backyard” among Turtle Creek highrises with its expanse of green space, its fantastic management team (excellent planning for the future and great stewards of the homeowners’ dues), and its relative affordability.

  26. Vicki Kehr on March 27, 2018 at 3:48 pm

Such a great boulevard, I once lived down there. My favorite is the Vendome.

  27. Albert Lujan on March 27, 2018 at 4:29 pm

I think The Vendome is gorgeous!

  28. Luke on March 27, 2018 at 4:29 pm

My vote is Highland Park, but it’s expensive there. My wife and I considered moving there at one point. Fort Worth Botanical Garden was close if I’m not mistaken.

  29. Sallie Buntenbah on March 27, 2018 at 10:19 pm

My fav is 3525 Turtle Creek!!!

Park Towers. Great location at Fairmount and Katy trail, nice 60’s vibe.
