As it gets harder to find a great home for under $300K in East Dallas, we’ve found a super cute Casa View Oaks cottage.

Our Tuesday Two Hundred at 2426 San Paula Ave. is beautifully remodeled three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch with 1,201 square feet on one story, built in 1953. It brings a lot of personality to market, with lovely curb appeal (love those mature trees), stylish touches, and a backyard area with lots of grassy green space and a detached one-car garage. This one is not going to last long!

Casa View Oaks is roughly bounded by Gus Thomasson Road, Buckner Boulevard, Ferguson Road, and Shiloh Road. Created in the period after World War II when comfortable, affordable housing was in great demand, the neighborhood offers lots of character in its architecture and a family-friendly vibe. Part of the area’s appeal is also its proximity to White Rock Lake, shopping, entertainment, and dining options, as well as ease of access to Interstate 30. This area is growing in popularity for a reason.

Extensive remodeling have taken this house into a new league. Laminate floors look like the real deal and there are new low-E windows, a tankless water heater, recessed lights, fresh paint, and a new front porch.

The kitchen is a stylish space and that tile backsplash in a herringbone pattern with dark grout jumps out. Love it. The cabinets are new, as are black stone countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range.

All three bedrooms now have new carpet and those new windows let in a lot of natural light. Two remodeled full bathrooms have new tile, vanities, and fixtures and look great. The herringbone tile treatment is extended into both.

This home was listed Sept. 16 by Robert Wood with Homecity Real Estate for $249,000.

YAY! I see my pet peeve regarding garage doors has been addressed. Nice to see this was not overlooked nor subjected to the “let’s just get a cheapo white metal panel door from Home Depot and put it up.”
