We’ve found a vintage charmer in a great North Dallas neighborhood where mimosa trees still line the streets and midcentury is married flawlessly with mod updates.

Old is new again at 3106 Woodwind Ln., near Royal Lane and Webb Chapel Road in the Walnut Hills neighborhood. This home is a great combination of new amenities and a nod to the original style. It offers tons of personality with its three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two dining areas, and 1,479 square feet on one story, built in 1956.

Love the new curb appeal with freshly painted brick, new landscaping, a wood post, brightly colored door, new windows, and a lovely, mature shade tree. The foundation is fixed up, too, and all doors, the roof, and electrical systems are new.

Cross the threshold into the living area with its original restored hardwoods, fresh paint, and great staging. This area is open to the formal dining area with its cool drum lights. The kitchen is a long and narrow space and layout is slightly awkward, but they’ve added some great features, like white Shaker-style cabinets, granite countertops, a pretty penny tile backsplash, and large center island. Those new windows make the space super bright and look out onto the backyard and covered patio.

The bedrooms shine with continued hardwoods and big windows. The bathrooms are remodeled to look contemporary — love the sinks.

The backyard has a covered patio and mature tree. The grass looks a little rough, but that’s an easy project for a new homeowner.

This Northwest Dallas home was listed Sept. 10 by Lauren Kovar with Pioneer DFW Realty for $289,900.

That kitchen is unfortunate. I think more should have been spent there either changing walls or with an addition.

      I agree. Awkward.
