Australian native Karl Champley is an award-winning Master Builder, environmental home inspector, property developer, and building consultant for commercial and residential construction. With more than 30 years’ experience, he has won countless awards for prominent large-scale remodels, additions and new homes. His work ranges from colleges, libraries, restaurants, homes, and fire stations, to the world-famous Glass House situated in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney, Australia. Karl also is a familiar face on the DIY Network and HGTV with his home improvement shows “DIY To The Rescue” and “Wasted Spaces,” which won seven Telly and Aurora awards. Karl won “Ellen’s Design Challenge” on HGTV and returned for season two. He owns KJC Constructions (NSW) Pty. Ltd.

Interior Designer

Dallas Interior Designer Barbara Gilbert and her team specialize in high-performance, sustainable new construction and full-service luxury residential interior design. She works closely with her clients to interpret their vision and create carefully curated spaces that work visually and function beautifully. Recent honors include five 2015 ASID Legacy of Design awards, two 2015 IDS Designer of the year awards, four 2014 ASID Legacy of Design awards, and Best of Houzz awards for service and design from 2012-2016. She is certified as a Dewey Color Specialist and is ReGreen certified. Barbara Gilbert Interiors serves the North Texas area, including Dallas, Highland Park, University Park, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Richardson, Southlake, Westlake, Flower Mound, and surrounding areas.

A designer with IBB Design Fine Furnishings, Kevin creates original interiors that are inspired by his travels around the globe. His favorite design elements are those that drastically change a space: proper space planning, special furniture pieces, color, art and accessories. He stays true to his clients’ personal style, bringing it into every space, while also challenging them to step outside of their comfort zone to create individual interiors. Kevin loves classic, timeless designs that do not overtake their environment, but compliment and accentuate the natural elements already present. He received his degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Cheryl Turner is a former trial attorney who represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in cases involving residential and commercial construction, insurance litigation, consumer class action/multi- plaintiff litigation, deceptive trade practices, fraud, fiduciary duty, defamation, and general business litigation. Licensed to practice in 1994, Cheryl received her B.A. and J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. During her 12 years as a private practice attorney, Cheryl was Chairman of the State Bar of Texas Consumer Law Section, Director of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, a member of the Construction Law Section, a Texas Bar Fellow, and a frequent speaker and author on the DTPA and residential construction. In 2006, Cheryl left her private legal practice to join Darling Homes, a single-family luxury homebuilder with communities in the Dallas and Houston area. During her 8 years with Darling, Cheryl served as Vice President of Customer Relations and General Counsel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Vice President of Operations. She was also an active participant on the Land, Leadership and Executive Management Committees. In 2006 and 2007, Cheryl was named a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly in the area of construction law. In 2008, Cheryl was named “Best Solo Corporate Counsel” by the Dallas Business Journal. Today, Cheryl is Texas Division President of MainVue Homes, an international company focused to bringing fresh, contemporary designs to production homebuilding.
