Demolition Permit Pulled For Historic Home Couple Hoped to Transform Into Wedding Venue

4901 Live Oak

A demolition permit for the home at 4901 Live Oak was pulled earlier this month, and while the stately red brick home that sits at the corner of Live Oak and Fitzhugh still stands, the trees surrounding the home were being removed rather unceremoniously. It might be only a matter of time before this home, a place that one young couple from Brooklyn hoped to re-imagine as a dreamy wedding venue, will be razed.

After falling down the DCAD ownership rabbit hole, it appears that one of the owners with 4901 Live Oak LLC is Keller Williams Realtor Victoria Berezina. We attempted to contact Berezina for more information, though we haven’t heard back. An associate at her office said that Berezina is in Russia at the moment. We’ve also reached out to Dyn-o-Mite Demolition, but there was no answer at the business.

We’ve also reached out to the former owners, Adam and Alicia Rico of Bows and Arrows Flowers, about the demolition. Stay tuned.

Why would anyone want to tear down this beautiful home? So disappointing!!!

As a real estate agent in the area who drives past that house almost daily it makes me sad to hear this. Too bad the Ricos met so much resistance to their dream and had to sell. Will the neighborhood be better served by what will replace this stately home? That will be determined. Dallas we need to get it together to work with people trying to save these old homes.

They have already started demolition. The house is open for use by the homeless. Where is code enforcement???

It was my understanding it is zone Multifamily Townhouse, they can get a dozen or so on the property can’t they?
And the same time the Aldredge House is a wedding venue. It does not seem fair.

Well…we certainly can’t blame an innocent, young, “quality,” real-estate agent with overseas affiliations, who is no stranger to civil court, to be vested in a gorgeous old manse that represents a piece of Dallas’s past. She does have to make a living like the rest of us, and pay for those “ritzy” uptown digs, in addition to the “vallita;” And no, I don’t think it’s unusual for a successful realtor to have such little web presence, without even so much as a picture. That’s quite normal for realtors. Nor do I think it’s misleading to name an LLC after a street that you have investments on, giving others the impression that the LLC actually cares about the neighborhood. Everything about this is so incredibly transparent, that I suspect no unethical behavior, whatsoever. She loves Dallas. Thank you, Victoria, for exhibiting such compassion towards the neighborhood, by bulldozing that unsightly old manse for a big box apartment building, crammed in condos, or a neighborhood-friendly retailer. I’m sure the Austin investors of the properties next door are ever so thankful.
