With its trademark shape and fantastic location, the Renaissance Dallas Hotel has been a landmark venue since 1983, however, it was showing its age a bit. Thanks to a fantastic multi-million dollar facelift, the hotel is now LEED Silver certified and boasts 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space, with a 16,000-square-foot grand ballroom, a 10,000-square-foot rooftop terrace, and breathtaking views of downtown.

“The Renaissance Dallas Hotel is an eye-catching unique building in a great location. With the expansion of the event space, the hotel has a strong competitive edge,” said J.W. Marriott, Jr. “This world-class space is modern and cool, with one of the best ballrooms I’ve seen … and I’ve seen a lot! I know meeting planners and attendees are going to love coming to this hotel and to the great city of Dallas.”

To celebrate the hotel’s coming out, 400 guests gathered with members of the Marriott family within the hotel’s chic space to ogle at models in couture gowns made to evoke the fashion-forward interiors from K2M Design. The celebration focused on a runway show organized by Dallas fashion legend Jan Strimple, with gowns created by local designers Maria A. Luna, Terry Wise, Nicolas Villalba, Jessie Thaxton, and Shemara Jeyarajah.

“The idea of The Renaissance Collection grew from experiencing the hotels’ sumptuous use of leathers in a color palette that redheads naturally migrate towards,” said Strimple. “I left our introductory meeting wanting to wear many of the fabrics used through the addition.”
Wow! If Jan Strimple wants to wear the fabrics in the Renaissance’s new interiors, that has to say something about the luxurious finish-out!
