If you’ve ever driven past the light at Mockingbird Lane and Williamson Road on your way to White Rock Lake Park, then you know what house we’re featuring for our Friday Four Hundred. I’ve always loved this house, as it sits right on White Rock Creek and is so pretty from the outside. However, I’ve thought that the location is less than enviable.

Still, that’s not completely turning me off from 6606 Williamson, a remodeled ranch with a modern vibe and tons of huge windows. You can really soak up the view from this home, which has a terraced backyard and a lovely bank of low-e picture windows. This is such a fun renovation job, one that includes art niches, specialized lighting, and an open kitchen that is perfect for those intimate dinner parties where everyone huddles around the chef as if they’ve waltzed into Benihana for a dinner and a show.

The open floor plan is accented by the gorgeous stained hardwood floors throughout the home. You’ll also adore the way the home flows from the stainless steel front door to the kitchen and living areas. The kitchen, which features top-of-the-line stainless appliances and a chic and trendy concrete countertop, has tons of storage and a cool, industrial vibe.

The living area is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife in East Dallas. Hang a few cool bird feeders (Wild Birds Unlimited is just up the street!) and you’ll attract a copious number of colorful attendants, all which seem an arm’s length away when viewed from these gigantic picture windows. The skylights will help give you light enough to read your bird book, too.

The home has two bedrooms and two baths, and while I’ve come to a certain level of peace on the fact that some people aren’t in love with bathtubs and leave them out of their master bathrooms entirely, I have a super hard time understanding the absence of a second sink. It almost seems like a feature that should be mandatory. Tell me I’m wrong, people!

But if you buy this home, which is listed by Ebby Halliday Realtor Dick Clements for $499,850, you’re not really buying it for the beds and the baths (although I’m sure you’ll be glad they’re there during certain times of the day). You’re buying it for this amazing terraced deck and patio, which is practically RIGHT ON TOP of White Rock Creek. And that’s reason enough for me to put in a bid. What about you?
