Friday Four Hundred: Let's Get Traditional With This Fabulous Lakewood Estates House

Marquita Front

Modern architecture is just my thing, but sometimes I’m drawn in by a fabulous traditional home. That’s what happened here with 6417 Marquita, a great traditional home in Lakewood Estates. This home is completely move-in ready with updates galore that keep the house’s character at the forefront.

Marquita Living Room

With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and almost 2,000 square feet, this European-style cottage has plenty of room and tons of personality. This house would be an excellent fit for an urban-minded family who wants a close-knit neighborhood and walkable streets with a great elementary school for their young kids.

Marqita Dining

Lakewood has always been a heavily sought-after location, and this price reflects that. Marketed by Scott Kaserman for $499,000, this home shows that you can live in a wonderful neighborhood with a suburban feel with urban amenities such as shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and parks. You’re only 15 minutes from downtown, too.

Marquita Kitchen

Everything is light and airy in this home, especially the kitchen, which is a great spot for entertaining with the huge island and Jenn-Air range. I love the island seating, too, and the shaker-style cabinets with dark granite counters just go together like peanut butter and bananas.

Marquita Master Marquita Master bath

The master suite is a great size for a retreat, but I’m kind of bummed that the hardwood floors don’t continue into this room. And the master bath, while accessible, is small and lacks a tub. There’s only one sink, too. Not a deal-breaker, as the tile and vanity are still beautiful, but just a little bit of a let-down.

Marquita Backyard

The backyard has plenty of room for a crowd to mill around in good weather, with a huge brick patio shaded by a canopy of trees. The rest is kind of a blank slate — a great opportunity for a green thumb to install a wonderful place to relax!

If you want to get a closer look, this great home will be open this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
