It’s My Mansion: Bradford Estates Cutie Has Updates Aplenty For Less!

Share News:

We catch flak sometimes for not featuring more affordable properties. Not everyone can afford a multi million-dollar home, so here’s a look at a cute, updated, and affordable house with a good location.

Just west of Webb Chapel and south of Walnut Hill is Bradford Estates, a great little hamlet that is super accessible. Here you’ll find a lot of 1950s-era traditionals — the little one-story that could.

There are tons of homes just like this one all across Dallas that have layers upon layers of generational updates. This home —3085 Newcastle — looks fresh inside with new paint and hand-scraped hardwoods throughout and is listed for $184,000.

The kitchen/dining area, which is open to the living room, has brand new tile and stainless appliances. The backsplash was updated with a cool textured stone, which plays up the granite counters. Instead of refacing the cabinets, though, the owner decided to save some money by painting and replacing the hardware, which doesn’t look bad I guess. It just seems a little, I don’t know, off?

There are three bedrooms and two baths in this home, with one of the baths connecting to the master bedroom. Both bathrooms have been updated with new vanities, and the master has a brand-new shower with mosaic tile.

Since the two-car garage in in the front, you’ll have an unencumbered backyard where you can spend a ton of time deciding where you’ll plant the garden from the brand-new deck. You’ll have to pick the stain color, though, which is fine by me!

Tell me: What would you offer for this home?

Seriously cute! I am not a fan of wood decks but this one could be dismantled in a second. Just give me a sledge hammer… since I'm so athletic!

Per MLS, I think it might be located at 3085 Newcastle, not 3805.
