Architect Josh Nimmo Inspires With Modern Retreat on Cedar Creek Lake

This modern Malakoff lakehouse redefines lake living. I wasn’t surprised that it was designed by architect Josh Nimmo, but I was surprised to see him design a lakehouse. I’ve been fascinated by Nimmo’s work for years, and watching his evolution has been inspiring. I never expected to see his work at Long Cove on Cedar Creek Lake in Malakoff. My interest in Nimmo began in 2017 when a house down the street from our publisher’s former home was built. Nimmo calls it the House on Ricks. We called it the Glass House because there is a continuous flow of floor-to-ceiling glass throughout the home. Candy kept us updated, and when it hit the market, we, of course, covered it. It was bold, dramatic, and a new look for Dallas. Then, when he designed the Outcrop cylindrical homes at Urban Commons, I realized I was seeing next-level genius.
