Wishful Wednesday: I Dreamed I Could Afford a House with Three Masters in Preston Hollow’s Honeypot For Under $4 Million…

Share News:

I really did dream this and not in my Maidenform Bra: I was living in some vague house and I opened up the computer to see that a fabulous newer home with old world charm, class and character was ready and waiting for me for me with open angel arms (and THREE master suites!) for less than four million dollars. Because, let’s face it, you say Preston Hollow and you might as well say “five million dolla!”

But then I saw that the folks at Dave Perry-Miller and Associates have DROPPED THE PRICE on this primo primo primo listing at 9507 Meadowbrook. Are my eyes failing me? Need new Chanels? This home was once listed at $4,500,000!

Talk about location, I don’t think Pooh Bear could have found a better spot in the Honeypot. This home has been value priced to $3,995,000 — oh what what a value!. First of all, hello, location! Corner of Ravine and Meadowbrook — hell Roger Staubach is right up the street!

Designed by Robbie Fusch, built by Jerry Brinkerhoff, this private paradise of color offers basically everything. Double front doors open to a stunning entry with herringbone-patterned flooring. There’s a wall of glassy French doors in the living room with views of the pool and mature landscaping, we have our 1.04 leafy acres. A step down, sunken living room has my coveted hand-scraped hardwoods and a large fireplace — one of six fireplaces in the home, I might add. The dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows, a beamed ceiling, hardwoods and yet another fireplace. The study/library actually has built-ins, a beamed ceiling, hardwoods and you guessed it — another fireplace. I could let the kids move in: there are three master suites, two on the first level and one on the second. (Or maybe my mother-in-law could take one, just musing.) The largest first floor master features access to the peaceful grounds, (another) fireplace and a vaulted ceiling — we’ll take this one. The  bath is the cat’s meow with dual vanities, my jetted tub, a separate shower, two walk-in closets with built-ins, plus access to the outdoor entertaining area and a private zen meditation garden. The other first-floor master suite has a beamed and vaulted ceiling and includes a large study area with a built-in desk. Hubby would love that…

Now here’s an idea: what a great way to escape your spouses’ snoring! If he gets too loud, you just bed-hop to the other master. Genius! This IS the house of my dreams!

The kitchen has been showcased in so many national magazines it has an agent: glass-front cabinetry and beautiful tile work,  high-end appliances, Traulsen four-door refrigerator, a commercial-grade Wolf six-burner gas range with grill and double Thermador ovens. Upstairs, that third master suite has yet another fireplace and a large master bath, perfect for an in-law or boomerang child. There is another bedroom suite upstairs and an additional room for exercise, nanny, pooches, etc. Of course there is a large covered outdoor entertaining area with seven ceiling fans overlooking the grounds with plenty of play space, a beautiful pool and a guest house. 8125 square feet, built in 1989, four bedrooms plus, four and a half baths, guest house or quarters. At this price you almost get half of the square footage free and clear — $3,995,000. Let me tell you a home right behind this one on Park Lane Dave Perry-Miller just sold for $7,995,000 that was not that much larger. I think this home is sized just right, and the price is not just amazing, it’s a steal.

Now if this has too much yard, hold the presses because I am NOT supposed to tell you this, but TOMORROW a gorgeous 7500 square footer with a pool and everything you might want including Sandy, the most precious Golden Retriever in the world, pops onto the MLS market and gives you a great smaller yard option. It’s at 5814 Falls Road, listed by Dave and Ryan Streiff. Fresh on the market and I am not sure if photos have been shot yet, so stay tuned. It’s also a great location, just a little less dirt in case you love to lock it and leave, get the heck out of Dodge sometimes to a little place in, say, Vail..

Great house that was just a little too small for the previous owners, Bill and Susan Cooper. But they liked it so much they built the same house, but enlarged everything by over 25% at 4320 Armstrong Parkway.

Palette, palate – either way it's a tasteful work of art, and scrumptious, too. Georgia
