Monday Morning Millionaire: Pretty on Purdue Spec for the Traditional Lover in You

Love this house! Signs that we are having a little bubble blip here, this is a SPEC home my dear readers! Not yet even on the market, or just went on, I know they just swifter-ed the floors. If you are seeking a brand-new construction in University Park by a quality builder, look no further than 3129 Purdue. Hawkins-Welwood just finished this 5456 (I think) square foot smooth, soft traditional with a touch of contempo charm. (LOVE the light fixtures and hardware.) Beautiful tidy .22 acre lot on Purdue just east of Hillcrest, but not crammed at the Central end. You get a beautiful downstairs with living/dining split by the center foyer, family and kitchen ahead. The living room has one of those large closet office deals off it, with built-in desks and drawers, which could be a hidden office. Every house needs one of these. When I see a neat office, I see an office that is never used or the owner has just popped some speed to clean it up. Ben Coats, who is working with John Hawkins, tells me this way, the room can be a formal living room or a formal office — the real work will be done in this nook. You’ve got a great kitchen and patio with fireplace. Upstairs, a bonus or game room over the two car garage, four bedrooms including a knock out master, and very large laundry. I have asked for the recipe for these dark wood floors, just yummy. I like the spacious hall surrounding the main staircase (there are two staircases) and the hall skylights. There is a bedroom to the right of the master that could be used as an upstairs office, or to expand the master, or a nursery. I am a bit upset there is not one bedroom on the first level, as you need it whether for elderly parents or an injured child. When my son broke his leg in kindergarten, I vowed to have a downstairs bedroom and full bath in my next house as I lugged him up the stairs, cast and all. And that house, R.I.P., had steps all over the place, including a one-step down in the kitchen that was tile. That no one broke a limb or tooth on that is a miracle. But I digress: Ben assures me there is room for an elevator in this home to scoot your injured fanny upstairs, so lack of a downstairs boudoir is moot.    These photos, by the way, are from a great firm called Shoot to Sell.
