Tuesday Two Hundred: Adorable Austin Stone on Ellsworth, $274,500 House for the (Newly) Hitched

Share News:

This puppy is new to the market or I would have found her sooner! 5742 Ellsworth. Have you ever seen anything more adorable? First of all, I am as big a sucker for Austin stone ANYTHING as I am Dartmouth men. I own an Austin stone cottage in San Antonio. When we added HVAC they had to drill five times to get in the drain pipe, that’s how solid this stuff is. Not only is this light, bright 1529 square foot charmer CUTE, it’s got a great location right off Matilda. The circa 1945 home has been updated for you, work’s all done: gleaming original hardwoods,  crown molding, two living areas, an open kitchen-breakfast room plus formal dining, new HVAC, ductwork, roof, light fixtures, and a cedar closet. The kitchen is also new with granite counters, appliances new in 2003 and baths new in 2009. Speaking of, there is just one bath, which may be a drawback, or a plus: one less commode to clean. But I think a half bath could be easily added. Outside you will find pretty landscaping, a wood deck, mature trees.  This home is also located in the Stonewall Jackson school district, groovy, but somehow I feel this is not a family home. Perfect for singles, downsizing Baby Boomers, or a darling young couple who just got hitched. Yes, in fact, I think I will christen this home the House for the Hitched!
