There are two distinct stories here. First, the fantastic French provincial home nestled on 1.6 acres on Inwood Road now on the market for under $3 million. But the juicier story is the thousands of rare grapes growing in the backyard, a crop that is the only active, professionally-managed vineyard in the city of Dallas.

Yes, the home listed for $2.995 million by Cassie Bledsoe of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate has an active working vineyard from which the beloved local wine, Inwood Estates Vineyards wine, was established.

The home at 8123 Inwood Road has five bedrooms, four full baths, one-half bath, and 5,165 square feet.

The French provincial home is a prize in of itself with five bedrooms, four full baths, one-half bath, and 5,165 square feet. Sitting on 1.6 beautifully treed acres, the 1950-home provides plenty of privacy with its 10’ wrought-iron and wood fence and two electric driveway gates. External wood shutters and twin Bevolo gaslight lamps flank the thick front door that has a caged peephole, as if you were entering a castle or 1920s speakeasy. (more…)

Write what you know, right? That’s why I typically gravitate towards 1980s-built soft contemporary homes, popcorn ceilings and all. But I became a fan of midcentury modern style the moment I purchased a Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona Table reproduction and started learning more about the architecture and design of this distinctive era. I’m a novice though, so I tend to defer to other CandysDirt expert writers about MCM homes.

I’m taking the plunge though with this Bud Oglesby midcentury modern townhome at 3615 Gillespie Street #A in Oak Lawn, listed for $345,000 by Charles Gregory with Dave Perry Miller Real Estate.

When I think about contemporary architecture, I gravitate to dramatic lines and angles, creative use of light, and bright accent colors. So when I saw this brand new listing from Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s Ralf Baumann, I had to share it with you because it not only has a wonderful contemporary feel, but the use of light and the wide-open spaces in this immense Oak Lawn new build will definitely leave and impression.

The home is located right in the thick of Oak Lawn, and sports incredible floor-to-ceiling windows and a floating staircase that definitely brings the “WOW” factor. With 22-foot ceilings, drama is a priority, not an afterthought.

When you think about what makes a house a home, what are some details that come to mind? Homes are so much more than four walls and a roof, especially when it comes to the everyday life of a family. Thoughtful touches, grand spaces, and awe-inspiring rooms are the backdrop to our memories, and smart, creative design can make or break them. So when we ran across this inspiring Preston Hollow transitional, we couldn’t contain ourselves.

Not only is this beautiful Preston Hollow transitional — our Inwood National Bank Home of the Week — a brand new build, but its stunning spaces feature the deft hand of award-winning designer Traci Connell, notes Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s Lisa Marcus Schlachter. Reason enough to fall in love at first sight, and we know you (and your future guests) will!

We love Traci Connell because she took an unusual path to a successful career in interior design and has made a name for herself in a very competitive industry.

Plus, she has an eye for pattern and color that creates unusual, eye-catching spaces that offer so many “wow” moments!

The foyer in this Preston Hollow transitional has designer touches from the ceiling to the floor thanks to Traci Connell.

“This is definitely the gem of Sondra Drive that is nestled in the heart of Lakewood!” gushed Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s Matthew Edwards when I asked him about his brand new listing. The home is not only a newer build in one of Dallas’ most sought-after neighborhoods, but it the location is beyond enviable, making it a shoo-in for our High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans

Of course, Lakewood is teeming with stellar homes of all ages and sizes, but homes on Sondra Drive are particularly sought after because of the private feel of the narrow, tree-lined streets. Plus, you’re so close to everything.

“This property lives wonderfully and has so many great amenities,” Edwards added. “It’s within walking distance to Lakewood Elementary and White Rock Lake!”

It’s true. Sondra Drive has twice the appeal of other Lakewood locations thanks to its proximity to Lakewood Elementary and its distance from the main thoroughfares that traverse the neighborhood. But if you’re a homebody like me, what you’ll really love the backyard, which has a great pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and a tidy lawn that will mean you’ll have plenty of room outside to keep both kids and parents happy no matter the season. No need for KayCee Pool memberships here!

Can you believe that July Fourth is tomorrow? It feels like summer is just racing by us, and Dallas is kicking the holiday weekend off with tonight’s Red, White, and Boom on the Bridge festivities on the Ron Kirk Bridge (Continental Ave. for those of us who aren’t recent transplants). The event concludes with a fantastic fireworks display over the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, which will be easily visible from this 23rd-floor perch at Bleu Ciel.

“This Bleu Ceil New Modern in the sky captures the best, most sensational views of the downtown Dallas Skyline,” says Matthew Edwards of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. He’s the listing agent for this week’s High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. With all of the stellar amenities of this building, it’s definitely the place to be for fireworks this Fourth of July, with short breaks on the resort-style pool deck!
