“A lot of sleek, modern design can look a bit sterile,” Steve Atkinson said. But this Oak Lawn townhome maintains a warm, accessible feel even with its clean lines and open floor plan. Located at 4001 Bowser Ave. Apt. C, this three-story, two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home has a great vibe to go with the stunning modern design. It’s our High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans, and for good reason — it offers gorgeous and easy-to-love spaces in a key location and at a price you can’t refuse!

Revitalized and booming, Dallas’ Uptown area is a long-time hot spot, reborn. It is the city’s hottest office and residential area, directly north of downtown with the finest array of dining in the city, high-end boutiques, vibrant nightlife, and salons. This creates an electric atmosphere, day and night, with lovely historic residential neighborhoods alongside newer developments.

Luxe high rises, sleek condominiums, and gated communities are just a few reasons Uptown is urban living at its best. Residents have many naturally beautiful areas to enjoy that are unique to this area, like Katy Trail, Reverchon Park, and Turtle Creek.

At the end of 2018’s first quarter, the undisputed real estate leader in Uptown is Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate in both total sales volume and total units for the area. The brand finished 2017 with almost twice the market share of its nearest competitor in MLS Area 17, which includes, Uptown, Downtown and Oak Lawn. Their listings are incredible!

“As an Uptown resident and Uptown property specialist, it’s been exciting for me to watch the area evolve and grow vertically — I’m proud to be a part of the company that continues to lead the way,” said Emily Ray-Porter, a Realtor with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. “I think it’s DPM’s unique focus and dedication to neighborhood-specific real estate that makes us so successful.”

I’ve found three that exemplify the kind of quality and luxury the brokerage is trusted to represent.

Whitley Place

This Mediterranean Transitional in Prosper’s Whitley Place is more than 6,000 square feet of family-friendly space that is also grown up enough for great entertaining.

If you’re looking for a custom luxury home, on a one-of-a-kind lot, but also want a neighborhood that is family friendly, you can’t get much more perfect than homes in Whitley Place in Prosper, trust us.

Whitley Place offers some of the best amenities — a community pool, creek, lake pavilion, walking trails, and even a special playground for the tiniest kids (complete with splash pool). And the greenbelt — we can’t rave enough about. A hybrid of park area that was donated by the developers to the Town of Prosper and a private open space owned by the Whitley Place HOA, plenty of green space and trees means family outings are an easy walk from your home.

None of that is a surprise, by the way, when you factor in that the developers of Whitley Place — CC Joint Ventures — are also responsible for some of the nicest communities in Southlake and Westlake, too.

And Haley Wagstaff, member of the Heather Guild Group with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, has just the home for you, too — 4221 Glacier Point Court. (more…)

Calling all architecture and design lovers: We’ve found a Bud Oglesby condo that’s the perfect dwelling for the Dallas urbanite. It just hit the market and offers are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, so you have to act fast to snag this gem.

Nestled in the Mansion neighborhood of Oak Lawn and only blocks from the Katy Trail, 2711 Hood St., Apt A is true to its original design with stained concrete flooring and open rafter ceilings. The original blue General Electric Wonder Kitchen (which includes stove, oven, sink, and stainless steel counters) has been preserved and offers an authentic and fun focal point for the space.

“I think there’s an intangible element to this home that’s hard to put into words — it has history and soul,” said listing agent Phillip Murrell with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate — Park Cities. “Oglesby was ahead of his time and created an efficient, open space without any fuss, just great design.”

This home has one bedroom, one bathroom, and 705 square feet on one story, built in 1969. Let’s take a look before it’s off the market.

You’ll want for nothing in this perfectly situated, three-story townhome inside the gated and secure Uptown development of Cascada.

When Phillip Murrell told me he had a new listing, of course I was intrigued. This go-getting Dave Perry-Miller agent has been representing some amazing properties lately, so I had to know what was going to be hitting MLS soon. Murrell offered me a chance to tour his latest, but only proffered a single photo of the property — the foyer.

And let me say that a single photo of the gorgeous entryway was all it took to get me on my way to 3338 Blackburn Ave., our High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. If you love luxurious urban living in one of the best locations in all of Dallas, then you, like me, will probably be hooked on this home from the very start.

The foyer of 3338 Blackburn Ave. offers a dramatic geometric floor fashioned of Bardiglio marble.

“We put the house on the market last summer and had quite a bit of interest,” says Becky Gruber. “The buyer saw it online and flew into town to see it in February. It went under contract shortly thereafter.”

The home has quite the lineage, as we’ve spilled before. Here’s what Candy had to say about the home back in 2014:

Near Royal Lane and Hillcrest Road is the wonderful North Dallas neighborhood of Brookshire Park. Beautiful houses on larger, heavily treed lots line the streets, with most of the original properties built late 1960s and early 1970s.

This week’s Splurge vs. Steal takes us there to two Brookshire Park beauties just 0.4 miles apart. Both are over 5,000 feet and offer high-end amenities. Which is your favorite?
