Thursday Three Hundred
I love it when a remodel gives me the shivers.
Just from looking at the amazing photos of 6265 Towhnill Lane, I got a little tingle in my toes. The current owner has poured a lot of love (and money!) into this gem of a post war traditional in the Meadows, which feels like a midcentury modern on the inside.
This house, if it could say one word and one word only, it would be “AHHHH-DORABLE.” Just like that. In fact, it would be shouting it, so when you heard it from around the block, you would come jogging through Winnetka Heights until you found 314 N. Clinton, a butter yellow Craftsman just west of Tyler Street.
I have a list of things I want in my next home. It goes a little something like this: 1. Pool, 2. New or like-new kitchen, 3. Two full baths, 4. Pool.
Not only does this house have everything on that list, but it’s also in the highly sought-after neighborhood of Greenland Hills. In fact, 5330 McCommas is not only a great house for a small family, empty-nesters, or a professional couple, but the location makes it all but ideal.
I love it when a master bedroom feels like a retreat — nay, a vacation. My requirements for a “retreat” include 1) an amazing bath tub, 2) a place where I can sip my coffee, and 3) there is more than one sizable window from which to view something other than my neighbor’s fence.
Not only does 9023 San Leandro have all three of my requirements, but it is in Little Forest Hills, one of my favorite Dallas neighborhoods. With 2,175 square feet, this three-bedroom, two-bath charmer is one of the larger cottages in Lakeland Terrace. And you can have it all and be right next to White Rock Lake for just $347,500!
Everything about this home screams skinny jeans and ironic glasses. From the modern furniture straight from West Elm and the Anthropologie accessories to the hilarious print in the water closet, this two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath cottage is Generation Y heaven.
