If you read Tuesday’s column, you know why this picture is blurry (poor resolution photography)

I know the market is mostly hot, but a 16,029 percent price increase … YOWZA!! That morning alert certainly sent me clicking away to 1001 Liberty Street, Unit 125 (I use an Ebby link here because Keller Williams wants you to login to see listings).  Turns out the property is also for rent and the Realtor, Gary Davis of KW Denton, entered the rental amount instead of the selling price, thus the astronomical increase when corrected. I know, let down city.  You expected something more.

Well, there is a little more … and a happy surprise.

DR Horton clean up Dump Bryan Place 1Remember when we showed you what we thought was the less than stellar job of corporate responsibility from the D. R. Horton folks at their Bryan Place development called “Exall Townhomes”? Well well, seems like our little blog post based on communication from a reader, along with a few photos, moved a few mountains.  Or at least some construction crap. Here’s what that storm drain used to look like. (more…)

DR Horton 5This is the thing about dealing with these big huge home builders: it’s hard to get hold of the corporate folks. My first phone calls got me to someone who cannot be quoted because this is a news blog, all information has to come from corporate. But I did find out that the Exall townhome prices will start in the low $400’s, and the project is under construction. As we can see. Models will be open later this summer, and sales will start in August.

So maybe the mess will only be there until then?
