Monday Morning Millionaire: Charming Tyler Chateau Offers Upscale Living in East Texas Gated Community
Share News:
For an East Texas town, Tyler isn’t small potatoes. For those inclined to journey to Shreveport every so often, it’s considered the halfway point on the drive toward casino gambling and Louisiana State Police speed traps. But it’s so much more than that. It has tons of parks including a nationally renowned rose garden, as well as nearby lakes, and is home to several small college campuses.
So you can see why this city can support a luxury development, Colonial Estates, in which you’ll find this stunning chateau at 3056 Concord Place. This home is just lovely, and is a true value considering the size and level of quality in the finish-out.
With three bedrooms, three full and two half baths, this home is spacious enough for both day-to-day life as well as hosting parties or weekend guests. And with almost 5,000 square feet of space, you’ll be sure to find a nook for some privacy and down time. It’s marketed by Dallas City Center Realtor Drew Burroughs for $1.25 million.
Built in 2006, this home has all of the latest interior features buyers want with the very best materials. In the living areas you’ll appreciate the grand floor-to-ceiling arched windows and custom draperies, the dramatic chandelier and stately fireplace flanked by candelabra-style sconces. The millwork, with arched doorways fitted with well-crafted mouldings and cavernous ceilings sporting huge exposed beams, is exceptional.
In the dining room you’ll notice the luxurious fixtures convey a sense of graciousness, with the salmon paint and white trim warmed from the glow provided by the beautiful crystal chandelier and sconces. The only turn off to this room is the carpet, which can be easily updated with either tile or hardwoods — take your pick.
The kitchen, though, is where I wouldn’t change a thing. The immense island and breakfast bar make this whole room feel huge, and considering that it is open to the family room and the breakfast nook, well, this is the space that all 21st century families crave. Polished stone floors, white custom cabinetry, granite counters, commercial-grade appliances, and beautiful fixtures make the whole cooking area an enviable environment for the most discerning home chefs.
The master bedroom is a huge retreat, with a 24 x 17 footprint and a huge lounge area. The painted paneling (or is that wallpaper? I can’t tell) feels a bit dark and masculine, but I don’t see that as being a tough fix. I love the soffited ceiling, which adds a touch of grandeur to the room.
The master bath has the same color scheme as the bedroom, but you’ll notice that it feels a little more sedate, thanks to the tile floor and light-colored window dressings. This is the very definition of a spa-worthy master bath, with a gigantic jacuzzi tub and a huge steam shower. Separate vanities would take it to the next level.
In the backyard you’ll find a great little pool and an outstanding loggia for relaxing in this incredible weather. Honestly, if you’re considering moving out of the hustle-and-bustle city life to a town that’s a little more slower paced without sacrificing luxury, this home is just what you’re looking for.

Thanks so much for the write-up Joanna! The formal dining room actually has hardwoods — that's just a sisal rug. The master bedroom is wood paneling with a green stain which allows some of the grain to show through.
The original owner was a meticulous civil engineer who was heavily involved in every aspect of the design and construction. Would make a great home for someone!
