Is This the Foundation for Tony Romo’s House Up There in Glen Abbey?

Update: I have confirmed that the Twitter photo (now deleted) indeed shows the foundation for Tony Romo’s new home. The building site has a huge fence around it, so likely this will be the last glimpse anyone gets from outside. (Cough cough.)  Also confirmed, Tom Weber is the architect, Robbie Fusch is the architect of record for Glen Abbey, truly one of the most beautiful developments in Dallas.

Making the rounds on Twitter, there’s a photo that could the foundation for Tony Romo’s new home in Glen Abbey. At the time this photo surfaced, we couldn’t say with absolute certainty. But the massive concrete footprint making the rounds locally sure looked like it could be. Why? Because Romo is known to be building a 30,000-plus-square-foot home — all under one roof — at 18 Ash Bluff Court. The property sits on a 3.339-acre creek lot inside the Glen Abbey enclave. I’ve heard the architects are Robbie Fusch and Tom Weber, and Mark Molthan is the contractor. The house plans call for a full basement, which would explain the unusually deep and expansive foundation.

The new Romo home is next door to Peter Shaddock, a well-known, highly respected Dallas builder and architect with excellent taste. In fact, you could say Peter is a Home Connoisseur.

The lot itself, appraised at $3,272,550 just for the dirt, had previously been started by an oilman who abandoned the project midstream. One bit of neighborhood lore: Shaddock, ever the perfectionist, reportedly spent his own money cleaning up the unfinished site so it wouldn’t sit as an eyesore before construction began.

Also heard he is more than delighted to have The Romos as his neighbors.
