Richard Malouf’s Back Yard Water Park Not the Only Fish in the Ocean… Another Bigger, Better for Dallas
Share News:
Well well. Seems I wrote about Richard Malouf’s backyard water-park under construction last week, and this week we see another real estate and house porn outpost has picked up the idea. Curbed.com probably read us, then marched out to sniff out other gargantuan, at-home water parks. Lookie what they found!
There are five luxurious mansions across the USA with over-the-top, private waterparks in their back yards, one in Cali, three in Florida and one in Las Vegas. And of course, once the Malouf’s complete their backyard water park over there on Strait Lane, across from Phil Romano’s and down the street from Ross Perot, Dallas can boast that we, too, have one! Looks like ours will be better than these waterparks, with pools ranging about 102 feet in length, slides and lounge-chair wading pools. I don’t see any with a Lazy River, do you? Nope, Malouf’s trumps them all! Look at that Lazy River behind the Private Sports Complex and keep in mind it covers almost an acre. Everything is bigger in Texas, even our private backyard water parks! I can hardly wait ’till this project is finished! Betcha $100 next season’s Dallas will find a way to film here…
I bet there's a builder in Dallas who could beat all of those!

No kidding Matt! There has to be a Dallas builder that can make Hawaiian Falls look pedestrian!

I'll agree its going to be fabulous, however it seems a bit too indulgent even for a 1%-er. Texas is in sever drought conditions, and how little time they will probably end up using it, the environment would have been better off without it.

So glad they care so much about the planet and the environment. At what point is Enough, Enouph?

It's his yard, his well, his money. What are we socialists already?

Is there some reason this Malouf guy hasn't been arrested? Our understanding is that he's cheated the taxpayers and cheated Medicaid.
There's really nothing funny about this, or the comments above. Why aren't you as a journalist taking steps to ensure the word gets out about his crimes?

These mansion water parks are very elaborate. I feel that these water parks are a little excessive and extravagant for one person to own. It is not fair that they are consuming an extraordinary amount of water, it is wasteful, and irresponsible of the owners. I found a blog that was discussing efficient water parks and how they maintain a lower water consumption. There are a couple of north carolina water parks that use a different type of pump that saves around 13,ooo dollars a year in water bills.
I hope we see more effort in preserving the environment by not supporting this level of excessive spending.
