Avida Custom Homes Is Launching a Magnificent Mediterranean This Spring

Something spectacular is happening in Highland Park at the corner of Armstrong Parkway and Arcady. Avida Custom Homes is building an exceptional 8,643-square-foot, six-bedroom, eight-bathroom Modern Mediterranean with design features that will make your heart skip a beat.
That’s not surprising, however. Avida is a family-operated custom home building company helmed by David and Rozie Samei and their son Stephen. They have been in business for decades and are on their building site every day. They have designed and built custom homes exclusively in Highland Park for the past 14 years.
“There is a trend towards character,” Rozie said. “Homes have to have an element that sets them apart. We knew when we purchased the lot, we had to build something special and architecturally beautiful, given its important presence on the corner of Armstrong Parkway. I want a family-oriented home, but I also want the wow factor.”

The wow factor hits the moment the door opens to a dramatic floating staircase that you have to appreciate not only for its beauty but for the structural engineering.
“I look at every home we design from a personal perspective,” Rozie said. “How would I feel living here, and what do I need in a home? So far, what I want is what my clients want!”
Every detail of the home is thoughtfully considered well before construction begins, from Holly Hunt lighting to Waterworks and Kallista fixtures and Rocky Mountain Hardware. The Avida team then produces an immersive video using virtual renderings of all design selections, including furniture and accessory inspiration, leaving no uncertainty for prospective buyers. Clients experience the look and feel of the entire home long before it is complete.

Don’t think the wow factor stops at the foyer.
“I wanted something really different in the dining room,” Rozie said. “I didn’t want to use wallpaper like everyone else is doing. I started drawing, thinking, and came up with the design. Then I talked to Stephen, who has an excellent eye for detail. He suggested adding LED lights behind the walnut panels.”
With the addition of a Holly Hunt Studio, I feel certain that the dining room will start another trend.

Avida is always architecturally thoughtful and constantly discerning in their selection of finishes and fixtures. In the kitchen and morning room, you will find custom cabinets by Wood Mode in a rift-cut white oak, Calacatta Borghini slab countertops and backsplash, and yet another wow factor, a 60-inch Lacanche range. If you are not familiar with the brand, Lacanche ranges are handcrafted in Burgundy, France, the birthplace of French cuisine, and favored by serious home cooks and chefs alike.

Avida Custom Homes has hit a home run, yet again, with this magnificent Mediterranean. Remember, their homes sell before they are finished, so if you are looking, this is an exceptional opportunity.
That staircase!
Beautiful home.
