Casa Disco in the Sky: Where Miami Views Meet ABBA Obsession
Share News:

My daughter has reintroduced me to the joy that is ABBA. She wanted to know why I had never played any of their music or mentioned them even in passing. “In 1970s Alabama,” I replied, “ABBA did not get a lot of play time on the radio. It was Lynyrd Skynyrd territory.” Her reply: “What’s a radio?” That’s when I wrote her out of the will.

What she loves about ABBA is that all of their songs are some sort of incantation. I told her ABBA was more of a disco-type band. Discos, incantations, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. That’s how we rolled in the ‘70s. Now, if you have read any of my past columns, you should be quite nervous because you know of my deep affection for discos.

You know who else really liked ABBA, their incantations, and discos? The owner of the home featured in this week’s column. Big, huuugggeee fan. Let’s do this.

Incantations galore. I have to laugh. The fact that there is no disco ball is a travesty.

“CASA DISCO IN THE SKY ~ HIGH-GLAMOUR ART DECO REVIVAL WITH WRAPAROUND UNOBSTRUCTED VIEWS OF THE CITY.”

The table is strictly for staging purposes. Eliminate the table and you have your main dance floor. Now the views in this condo are spectacular. I’ll tell you this, if I could get views like this every word I say would be part of an incantation.

I would wager that the person who created this front door and entry spent a lot of time at a disco.

Oh, there’s our dancing queen right there sprawled out on the floor in front of the bed.

“Ooh-ooh, you can dance, you can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl, watch that scene
Digging the dancing queen”
But let’s say dancing isn’t really your thing. You just want to have a drink and check out the scene. No problemo.

Do you want to know how I know the owner of this condo is a massive disco aficionado? The other bathrooms, hands down, give them away.

And these seal the deal.

Dark and dank and ready to party.
“You’re a teaser, you turn ’em on
Leave ’em burning and then you’re gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You’re in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance”

Everybody join me with some incantations!

“Her reply: “What’s a radio?” That’s when I wrote her out of the will.”
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHH!!!!
I made myself laugh too. Thanks for the read. Have great day.
I seriously thought this was a bar when I first looked at it. Great view, but a total redo – that lavender no bueno!
It looks like a bar in a disco. I can hear Donna Summer singing now. Thanks for the read. Have a good day.
