The 2025 Luxe List: A Gift Guide for the Bougiest Home Amenities You’re Asking Santa For

Share News:

After covering some of the most extraordinary properties in the state, we’ve pretty much seen it all. In terms of next-level amenities, there’s never been a better time to dream big, live large, and embrace being a little “extra.” In the spirit of the holidays, we’ve compiled a gift guide for luxury home amenities that encourages just that. Inspired by our home explorations of 2025, we’re digging deeper into the year’s top luxury add-ons and putting a price tag on the extravagance.

The Ultimate Golfer’s Gift: A High-End Simulator Studio

When you can’t hit the links, bring the links to you with a custom integrated golf simulation studio. If you’re new to the idea, an in-home golf simulator lets you practice and play virtual rounds indoors, using sensors and cameras to track your swing and ball data.

However, we must draw a distinction between the garage setups and the real deal. Sure, you can buy a low-priced launch monitor, a projector, and a bedsheet for under $2,000. However, if you want the professional experience, the price tag jumps significantly.

We consulted the golf sim experts at Trackman to tell us about the ultimate custom integrated build. Trackman is considered the gold standard in simulators because its Trackman 4 model combines Doppler radar with high-speed cameras to precisely track ball flight and club movement. A complete setup includes the latest software and mounted hardware, plus impact components such as a screen and hitting mat, and lighting.

The Spa Day Experience: Integrated Sauna

Nothing sets off an ensuite like an integrated sauna. We cover amazing bathrooms left and right, and rarely do we encounter an extravagance of this caliber. Like the golf simulator, there are affordable tiers to the sauna game. Backyard barrel saunas and stand-alone infrareds can run anywhere between $1,000 to $8,000. However, for a custom build, we consulted Todd “The Real” McCoy at Dallas Custom Saunas.

“If you’re looking at a high-end installation with premium woods, advanced heating systems, and upgrades like mood lighting, sound systems, and ergonomic seating, it’s going to be right around $28,000,” said McCoy. “With this kind of budget, I’d say you can get a pretty nice setup.”

The Movie Buff’s Fantasy: Complete Home Cinema

When Cinemark founders Lee Roy Mitchell and his wife, Tandy, listed their $22 million Preston Hollow mansion earlier this year, one of the features that caught the public’s eye was a complete home cinema, complete with soundproofing and seats for 20 viewers. Now, we see a fair amount of home theaters as we cover luxury homes across the Metroplex. Some might say they’ve even become commonplace or passé. However, we wanted to get a ballpark on a bona fide home theater experience. We’re talking massive screen, tiered seating, even flood lighting and a popcorn machine. For this, we consulted the pros at DFW Home Theater.

“Like a lot of amenities, home theaters can get really extensive,” said Dennis Mills, President. “Prices vary, but a true cinema-quality experience will include risers, a laser projector, a 150-inch screen, and even star-lit ceilings. These can cost anywhere between $40,000 – $50,000. But we’ve seen projects go up into the $90,000 range for features like full rosewood embellishments.”

The Perfect Pet Lover Present: A Dog Wash Station

Of the more interesting extras we’ve encountered, the personal pet wash station ranks high on our list. Usually found in a utility space or laundry room, these puppy pampering showers are the ultimate expression of a pet lover’s personality.

As far as the price ranges go, these can vary widely depending on what you’re looking for. Stainless steel options online start at around $700. However, if you want a truly integrated spa experience for Sparky, you’re looking at a significant cost increase. To get the specifics, we consulted with a top Dallas-area bathroom designer.

“These are essentially going to be the same cost as a full shower remodel,” said Karen Sedwick, a CandysDirt.com fan and certified Master Kitchen & Bathroom Designer with Elite Remodeling. “So there will be cost fluctuation depending on the quality of tile, frameless glass features, and fixtures. There’s also plumbing to consider. Right now, I would ballpark a nice pet wash in the $8,000 – $10,000 range.”

Your New Year’s Recovery: The Cold Plunge

With the growing popularity of biohackers like Andrew Huberman, Ben Greenfield, and Win Hof, innovative recovery methods are on the rise. Of these, cold plunge might be the most popular. Known to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and boost immune support, ice baths are becoming must-haves for the health-conscious.

However, they’re not easy to maintain or cheap to own. Sure, you can buy a galvanized steel tank and some ice for $300, but if you want the luxury experience, you’ll be spending much more. Thankfully, Sedwick has seen her share of cold plunges as well.

“There are a few options with cold plunges,” she explained. “You can convert an existing jetted tub into a cold plunge for around $6,000. However, if you want to integrate a standalone option, a nice cold water therapy unit with the cooling equipment costs around $14,000. If you have everything ready to install, you would pay around $1,000 for installation. Of course, if you need any additional plumbing, that’s going to increase the price as well.”

Standalone cold plunge: $15,000 and up

There are still a few precious hours of shopping season if you’re looking to give the gift of luxury this Christmas. We hope this wow factor wish list provides a little inspiration as you contemplate the perfect gift. And if you do install that ultra luxe home amenity, invite us over!
