This South Padre Island Townhome Makes a Fabulous Second Home for Dallasites

Share News:

We have reached the point of summer in Dallas where the heat cranks up to another level. The cooler temperatures and rain showers have been nice but now the humidity is settling in and the mosquitoes are dedicated to turning me into their personal buffet. The only thing left to say is, “Oy vey. What wouldn’t I give to have a second home to split my time?”

To humor my second home fantasy, I decided to see what homes are out there that would satisfy my needs to be able to have a change of scenery and still work from home. Holy smokes, I found a beauty.  Having just hit the market this past Friday, this townhome located on South Padre Island will not last long.

“High ceilings, hardwood LVT floors, and designer touches throughout create a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere.” Serene is right because this townhome is the last of five townhomes so you only have to worry about sharing a wall with one neighbor.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the downstairs with an unbelievable amount of natural light. An open-concept is on full display as the living room flows seamlessly into the dining area and the kitchen.

The kitchen has been updated with modern appliances and finishes that makes splitting your time between Dallas and this wonderful second home easy peasy.

A little less 2,000 square-feet in size, there are little touches that will make this home comfy. A great example is the cubby located under the stairs.

A perfect hide-a-way. Now, if panoramas are more your speed, then let us take a look at the upstairs.

I do believe this is what is called the money shot. Imagine waking up to this view everyday.

The only thing I would need on this deck is a table. Every clickety-clack of my keyboard would take place right here.

The primary bathroom is smart in its layout. The sinks are far enough away from each other that everyone has their respective space without having to worry about bumping into each other.

Now for those that need a more formal office, this townhome has a total of four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.

Any one of these bedrooms could be converted to an office. That would still leave you with two other bedrooms for hosting family and friends.

For those days when you want to feel as though you are floating away as you hear the waves crash along the shore, there is a sparkle pool for your enjoyment.

For a second home where you can comfortably split your time during the seasons, it is going to be hard to come across a better option than this townhome. It is the epitome of work/life balance.

Priced at $1.55 million, this South Padre Island townhome has an incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Correction: Gulf of America. It’s an easy mistake to make.

Correction: it’s been internationally recognized as the Gulf of Mexico since the 1550s. It’s an easy mistake to make if you have trouble with 2nd grade geography.
