The Galatyn, McKinney Avenue’s Newest High-Rise, Near Completion

The nearly-complete Galatyn stands near its sister property The McKenzie

Last year when StreetLights Residential president Rob de Bruin sat down with CandysDirt.com, stingy capital markets and high interest rates were at the forefront of the Dallas-based luxury developer’s collective mind. Fast forward to today, and you could add building material tariffs to the list, but Dallas-based StreetLights is forging ahead with a new uptown high-rise ready for move-in this year.

The Galatyn, a new luxury high-rise on Monticello in the Upper McKinney District is inching towards completion and is anticipating a fall 2025 move-in date, reps for the developer tell CandysDirt.com.

With only three homes per floor and just two penthouses at the top, The Galatyn leans into exclusivity. Residences start around 2,700 square feet, with the penthouses topping 4,500.Each home features formal foyers, open living areas, and kitchens outfitted with Monogram appliances, waterfall-edge islands, wet bars with wine refrigeration, and dedicated service kitchens tucked out of sight. Private terraces expand the living space outdoors — some with skyline views, others more shaded and serene.

Located in the Upper McKinney District at 3030 Monticello Ave, The Galatyn rises 20 stories and will house just 56 residences, including two penthouses.

It’s walking distance from the Katy Trail, dining and shopping on Knox, and close to the highly anticipated Tres Market specialty grocer in Highland Park.

Doug Chesnut, founder of StreetLights, says The Galatyn is a continuation of the firm’s approach to timeless architecture and resident-centered living.

“Great architecture should not only stand the test of time but enhance the way people live every day,” Chesnut said in a release. “The Galatyn embodies our mission of crafting beautiful spaces that lift the human spirit.”

The building’s amenity mix reflects a similar design philosophy. Residents will have access to full-service concierge and valet, a coffee and cocktail bar, coworking lounges, and a resident pool area with a catering kitchen. A greenhouse-style conservatory with a fireplace overlooks the pool deck, while a state-of-the-art fitness center offers a flex studio and infrared sauna. There’s even a dog wash and pet relief stations on every residential floor. Yes, really.

It shares a block with its sister property, The McKenzie, a 22-story residential high-rise in the Knox-Henderson neighborhood. It’s worth noting The McKenzie has 183 residences in its 22-story footprint; The Galatyn has 56 residences set on 20 stories.
