I may start calling Saturday Seven Hundred our Saturday Craftsman feature! There is a reason these are so prolific. They are incredibly well-built and offer such a livable layout. This Lakewood Heights Craftsman Bungalow is absolutely pristine and could not be better located.

The front porch of any Craftsman Bungalow becomes the go-to for neighborhood hangouts.

Lakewood Heights was established in 1914 as a suburb created specifically to entice soldiers returning from World War I to settle here. Lakewood Heights is nestled between Lakewood, the Swiss Avenue Historic District, Wilshire Heights, Stonewall Terrace, and Lower Greenville, it offers a central location that is hard to beat.

I’m pretty partial to this neighborhood because it was the first place I landed after college, and I loved it. I knew absolutely nothing about Dallas neighborhoods, but when I found a two-story Tudor duplex across from the nine-acre Tietze Park, with its pool, picnic pavilion, and sport courts, I felt immediately at home.

Johnathan and Ashley Easley also knew nothing about the neighborhood when they moved to Dallas from Colorado, but they had that same feeling I did when they saw this 1930 Lakewood Heights Craftsman Bungalow.

“We quickly realized the street was quiet, and the location was great, “ Jonathan said. “You can walk out the front door, take a left, and hit the trail on your bike. It’s super convenient and walkable to Tietze Park and the Lakewood shopping center. You also don’t have to fight school zones and one-way streets.”

They are also savvy buyers as Jonathan is a lender with Catalyst Lending, and Ashley’s company, Elite Transaction Management, offers transaction coordination services. In other words, they know a good home when they spot one.

The biggest attraction, of course, was the fact that this Craftsman home is so livable. It features the expected architectural character, with a fireplace flanked by built-in cabinets and plenty of natural light. The house is 1,518 square feet and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a beautifully updated kitchen, and a massive pantry. Because the home had already been updated inside, the Easleys could concentrate on the exterior. They improved the outdoor space, adding a deck, a gate, and a privacy fence.

With a diverse buyer base today, we’re finding that often siblings or friends are looking for a home to purchase rather than rent, and this Lakewood Heights Craftsman Bungalow is the perfect home for that scenario. These homes were designed with two front doors. That’s optimum for two people buying a home together or anyone wanting to offset their mortgage by renting part of the house out.

This Lakewood Heights Craftsman Bungalow has charm and convenience and is completely move-in ready. I suggest negotiating a deal to buy the furnishings as well because they are perfect!
